LOL @ dpdr
I couldn't think of anyone who would be a worse example of hair loss impacting their appearance. I can't see how hair loss is what you thought of when you first saw that recent picture of Cornell.
Sorry if it seems like I'm trying to discourage you. I see many posts about progress less than 3 months into treatment and I think about the impatience or anxiousness they are going through while waiting for results.
2 months is just not enough time to judge anything with hairloss. The...
I don't really see much of a difference. I would say that's a good thing given your rate of loss. You stated you started losing hair at 22 and started treatment at 25. It looks like you were losing it pretty fast when you consider how much you lost in only 3 years. To lose that much hair in...
I think most posters on this website are like me. I was a poster here like 6 or 7 years ago while taking propecia for 6 months. When I stopped taking the treatment(I think I just got tired of keeping up with it), I also stopped posting here.
I have been losing my hair since I was probably 15. It has been a very slow and steady process. I am now 26, and most people still do not seem to notice my hairloss(with the exception of my receding hairline). I took some pics 3 months in, all in the same spot under a bathroom sink light...
If you were to vigoursly rub your hands in your head for about 15-20 seconds over a white surface such as the sink, how many fallen hairs can you count? I get about 25-30 and I'm curious to see how I stack up to everyone else. BTW: I'm a Norwood 2.5 with a slightly visible male pattern baldness pattern of thinness.
Every year around this time I notice my hair is a bit darker. I think the sun in the summer time lightens up the color of my hair and because I don't get much exposure to sunlight in the winter months my hair starts to darken up a bit. Not sure it applies to your case but it took many years...
Same thing happened to me. It got so bad that it got to the point where I thought I was born with a defect. Eventually I accepted it, stopped thinking about it, and my problem went away.
I think if you believe in your mind that finasteride is causing you sexual side effects then you should expect...
I know they work differently...But why wouldn't finasteride be able to maintain what a growth stimulant was able to produce? If propecia can suppress dht to prevent further hairloss, then why would the hairs grown from minoxidil fall out?
What I'm wondering is if propecia halts all further damage to...
Today I'm starting to take finasteride. My question is: If finasteride is a success at maintaining what I have, then would it be possible to take minoxidil with finasteride for the first year, discontinue using it, then rely on the finasteride to keep what I grew with the minoxidil?
I'm asking bc I don't understand why finasteride...
I doubt propecia could cause premature aging. I think that idea just stems from people who are very concerned about their looks. Think about it...if someone is willing to take medication for their hairloss, then they are probably very keen on noticing any negative difference to their...
