I’ve been taking 10,000 IU D3, 1.5mg K2, 750mg magnesium oxide oral, transdermal magnesium oil spray, and biotin pills for about two weeks now, with daily scalp massages and weekly 1.5mm dermarolling. I’ve also been using castor and coconut oil twice a week.

Hair hadn’t been falling out at all beforehand since I fixed my diet and lifestyle after finasteride wrecked my hormones, but in the past couple weeks I’ve noticed a great improvement in the overall health of my hair—not only is it still not falling out, but it’s much thicker and stronger. I eat a ludicrous amount of veggies and exercise 6 days a week, making sure to do cardio after each workout to improve blood flow.

I’m only 19, but my male pattern baldness genes are very aggressive (maternal grandpa was NW3ish by 20, dad was NW4 by mid-20s). I’m going to continue this routine, at the very least I hope it will maintain my NW1.5 until big pharma comes to the rescue with an easy, side-free maintenance option. Not going back to the limp dick I had on finasteride, lol.
Congrats bro. Sounds similar to my situation. Finasteride completely wrecked my hormones and I started losing hair all over my head, which was never an issue before.

But since I’ve improved my diet, eating healthy foods and lots of vegetables, and lots of exercise i feel like my hair is already healthier and thicker.

Glad to hear that man. Diet and exercise are so important. Combined with quitting smoking and stimulants, they absolutely made the biggest difference for me in the past few months. I guess a year ago I figured I could just take 1mg of finasteride a day and live like a degenerate and my hair would be fine--this also seems to be the consensus among some people here and on places like r/tressless. Found out the hard way about that.

At first I was a little upset that my genes wouldn't allow me to sport a nice mane while living the same unhealthy lifestyle as my friends, but I feel so good all the time I hardly care anymore. As an added bonus, my dick works now, so I can f*** like a rabbit. I'll take that over binge drinking and burgers any day of the week.

Some more information.

DHT promotes calcification:

https://www.nature.com/articles/srep24807

Low-oxygen environments favor the conversion of testosterone to DHT:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/271112246_Androgenetic_alopecia_An_update

Low-oxygen/blood flow -> Increase of DHT -> Calcification

Chronic inflammation also leads to Calcification:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25746430

You can have a calcified scalp because poor local blood flow increased androgens in your scalp and/or chronic inflammation from diet. This is why 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors work only for some.

Growing hair in a calcified scalp is like trying to grow grass in cement.

Now how to revert calcification without messing with androgens.

I am preparing. If it happens, it’s not the end of the world. Could always be worse. Could wind up posting on a hair loss forum under the name “balderbaldybald” trying to get people in the early stages of hair loss to give up hope.

Now that would be f*****g pathetic.

Classsic. This wins the post of the day.

I just don’t understand why people like “balderbaldybald” bother. What a looser. Somebody needs to get a life :p

That’s a good link. I’m just going to do it :)

If lower oxygen favours T to DHT conversion then taking iron supplement would help? I think it should help if all the links up there are true.

Only if your diet is deficient in iron, which is unlikely.

High cortisol levels are also important. Cortisol tightens the muscles connected to the galea aponeurotica, thus reducing blood flow on the scalp.

I don't buy this cortisol theory. If that were true then all psychopaths would have thick hair and would never go bald .
because they have low cortisol levels .

It’s not the only factor, but it definitely makes a difference. I’m going to start experimenting with the Wim Hof method to try to keep cortisol low, which should also have the added benefit of increased oxygenation thanks to the breathing exercises and the cold therapy.

It’s not the only cause of balding?
How can you even verify that

Sorry Kenny, my estrogen is still too low which is causing inflammation in my scalp. I'll defnitely be at it again[/QUOTE
Which hormones need to be balanced? Testosterone, estrogen and cortisol levels need to be in range?

How many sprays do you use, and where do you apply them? I’ve been spraying a 2-3 times on my shoulders and neck and various other muscles after the gym. It sort of irritates the skin wherever there’s body hair.
I haven’t noticed any irritation. I put it on my torso and limbs
