HI Folks, Haven't posted here in a long time. I see a lot of new people on these forums now. I am looking for some advice from experienced members on a hair maintenence regimen ( if it's even possible). Here is the story so far: - Been on minoxidil (Xandrox) for 8 years. Cant say it has done...

How true are the reports of hair loss worsened by Propecia?

I wasn't going to post, but just had to, given that this has happened to me. Just read old posts from me and you will get you answers. finasteride/Propecia greatly accelerated my loss (did the same for my brother) and I lost more in the 1.5 years I was on finasteride than the 10 years prior. Since I stopped, my...

No hair = no dates (online)?

Ultimately it's about MONEY, like it or not! I have been hit on a million times when driving around town in my Viper. Have has panties thrown at the car (back when I had a lambo). BUT on my own, walking arond at a mall, club, etc I have never gotten CLOSE to that much attention. Here is a tip...

Stem Cell Regeneration - what happened?

Just watched the following video clip about stem cell hair regeneration. Apparently very promising and maybe even a future cure. Whatever happened to this? The Doctor in the video says they are going to start human trial and the treatment will hit the market very soon. WHY DO THESE MIRACLE CURES...

does this look like diffuse thinning?

Early diffuse thinning. Your scalp is way too visible for your age. Is that a number 3 or 4. Yor scalp should not show at all. Get on BIG 3 ASAP! Consultation with a good hair transplant surgeon wouldn't be a bad idea either! GOOD LUCK! YOU NEED TO TAKE ACTION ASAP!

    Unsuccess Stories Forum

I kind of agree with the OP partially. Everyone seems to be more inclined to lean towards positive experiences and reject negative ones. If you are struggling with treatments I guess you could always post in the general discussions area. But bottom line is that if finasteride, minoxidil, dutasteride and nizoral don't...

When I looked into the mirror today....new Bald Spot

The spot in question is in the middle of my hairline. It had been thinning for the last 1 year or so and finally lost the remaining hair in that area - seemed to happen overnight alost as if I had applied NAIR to it or something. Wonder if minoxidil 15% would grow anything there...

    How bad is it ?

Very similar to my loss pattern (although I am a bit worse density wise). I would suggest trying one treatment at a time - that way you would be able to tell the efficacy of each one more easily. finasteride is your best and most convienient option, followed by minoxidil and Nizoral shampoo. Personally...

When I looked into the mirror today....new Bald Spot

You know the feeling, right. You wake up with a million things on your mind, go to the bathroom, turn on the lights and then your eyes stumble upon a new bald spot that wasn't there yesterday. Well that's the terrible "sick to your stomach" feeling I had this morning. I lost slightly less than a...

The worst part about hairloss is the HELPLESSNESS

SAF old pal - I would beg to differ on this one based on my personal experience. My scalp felt aweful on finasteride and shedding was on an all time high the 12-14 months I was on finasteride. My visible density also decreased greatly. When I stopped finasteride my scalp felt relieved and shedding went down, albeit...

The worst part about hairloss is the HELPLESSNESS

ZB, I agree 100 percent. We are the unfortunate few for whom finasteride does not work at all. The way I see it, finasteride is the most proven treatment out there and if that doesn't do it for you nothing else will. The biggest frustration for me is exactly this. I have now tried finasteride twice (for 1 year each)...
