I would say you have two conditions going on at the same time.
1) male pattern baldness in the crown and throughout the top of your head and hairline
2) Alopecia Areata occurring centrally at the hairline.
That recent loss you mention at the hairline is NOT male pattern baldness. I'd see a dermatologist!
I'd love to see some photos. I have been considering adding 0.5mg dutasteride once or twice per week to my finasteride + minoxidil regime. The only thing is I don't know where to get it as I am in Canada.
That doesn't look like male pattern baldness at all. It looks like you have fairly equal thinning all over your head and quite aggressive for your age.
You need a blood test. Go see a GP and possibly a dermo.
In your wild hysteria to get people not to take finasteride you got caught up by a very simple reading and logical error.
"The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry study included 61 men who formerly used Propecia who experienced more than three months of sexual side effects, and had no history of...
It looks exactly the same to me. Keep up with finasteride. You likely won't see results until AT LEAST 6 months use! It takes time for these treatments to kick in.
There are no clinical studies that show Saw Palmetto to be effective at all and it surely will not be enough to hold off hair loss in the long run even if it did kind of work. My advice would be to try finasteride out. Side effects are not nearly as disastrous nor nearly as common as you'll read on the...
Speaking as an Optometry student here!
The RPE is a layer of cells at the very back of your eye beneath many layers of retina. It serves the purposes of nourishing your photoreceptor cells as well as absorbing excess light that enters the eye and therefore is responsible for reducing glare...
1. Man, I travelled all over Europe with a bunch of pre-cut finasteride + liquid minoxidil in my hand luggage and it never caused a problem. There was no way I was risking it getting lost with my checked baggage.. being without hair treatments for that long would have meant the end of my hair forever...
Thanks for the response! I've tried nizoral but it didn't do me any good. The itchyness and flakes still came and it made my hair really dry.
As for the blood vessel thing, my scalp microscope actually uses 8 LED lights around the camera so the lighting in each photograph is actually the exact...
Hello!
I'm thinking of quitting minoxidil. I had good Norwood 1.5 hair before going on it (I had been on finasteride for 6 months before adding minoxidil). During the course of using minoxidil, I developed severe dandruff.. my scalp health is currently really awful. The skin on top is dry, itchy, and crusty, and...
Haha thank mans. Keep updating this thread as your hair improves! It looks like you are well on your way to some good coverage again. I am honestly dumbfounded at how well your hair turned around in 1 month. Simply incredible.
