slower shedding on 0.5 mg finasteride? as opposed to 1mg??

I have heard anectdotal reports of people avoiding an initial shed when starting propecia by starting at a lower dose and slowly increasing it. I don't know if it works for everybody though. I'd just stick with the dosing recommendations from the manufacturer. 1 mg/day. If you do experience...

    Finasteride and Nut pain

I had a bit of nut ache when I first started propecia. It went away after a month or so.

    FDA

I believe the clinical trials are conducted prior to approval. Upon sucessful completion of clinical trials, the durg company applies for FDA approval, the FDA reviews the results of the trials, and then approval is granted or denied.

Who will be able to do HM????

I doubt if it will ever be available in a hair salon. Probably it will eventually be available from dermatologists, plastic surgeons, etc. At first it will most likely be restricted to hair transplant docs, and if things continue as they appear to be, only Bosley will be doing it.

What the hell is wrong with me!

Maybe you have reflex hyperandrogenicity. From the FAQ: Also, try dumping nizoral. Some people can't tolerate it. I've been off it for 2 weeks, and my scalp pain, which started shortly after I started nizoral, has considerably diminished. T-gel is probably a good alternative to nizoral for scalp...

    month 3 of 4 maybe.

I agree with traxdata. I'm not going to take anything but Merck propecia or proscar, unless maybe an FDA approved generic comes out some time. I don't trust shady foreign companies that thwart the US patent process at will. Maybe they do make legitimate products, but who knows? It's not a...

    minoxidil accelerating male pattern baldness.

When you quit minoxidil, you don't go back to baseline, you drop off to where you would've been had you never used it. In studies, the people who dropped minoxidil fell to the same level as those who never used it. If you use minoxidil for say, 3 years, then stop, you'll quickly fall off to about where...

Balding and how it affects how you are treated at work

You should have countered with, "and I wish I worked with hot chicks...instead I have to look at your ugly *** all day."

    Update with new photos.

I looked at your photos, and I can't see that you've lost much ground, even from 2003. Maybe a little bit, but not much. And I think you look ok with a shaved head. I can tell you for a fact, that when I wasn't suffering from hairloss myself, I didn't care about hair at all. There are...

May 4 2005 Wall Street Journal Article

That (the gel/serum) would be unbelievable. It's probably still science fiction right now though. I can't see how they could reliably deliver DP cells without injecting them. Unless things REALLY go down hill between now and then, I will probably wait until HM has been out for 2-3 years...

May 4 2005 Wall Street Journal Article

But that price was $8000-$12000, plus a hair transplant. That means it is more like $25000. I guess they were talking about a procedure like Walshenik talked about in one of his interviews; FUE for the hairline, and HM for added density. Is anybody else worried that Bosley is probably the only place...

2004 Article on Bruce Willis and optioning Hair Multipl.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've read quotes from him saying he'd never have a hair transplant, etc. I don't know if this is true or not. If I was screwing baywatch babes, I don't know if I'd be all that worried about my hair. Then again, who knows? I almost hope he doesn't do it, because it could be...

    finasteride vs dutasteride

dutasteride is new, and it's long term effects are relatively unknown. It also blocks a lot more DHT, including type I. The effects of having no type II DHT are well known, because of the Dominican semi-hermaphrodites, who have a type II-5ar defficiency. Also, dutasteride is just scary to a lot of people...

    Just some thoughts

I don't trust celebrity hair. If you watch Mel Gibson's movies, you'd think maybe he's a NW2 at worst, with very thick hair. In reality, he's a NW3-4, and pretty thin on top. I could stay the way I am forever, but who knows if I will? The odds of that happening aren't any that I'd care to...
