Yes it can. I notice mostly all the guys who have thyroid issues have diffuse thinning but tend to have a full head of hair.

Update. Last months was the worst in my scalp life. My seboherric dermatitis increased... I just have flaky, stinky, greasy helmet. Nizoral and keto shampoo dont help me. I have red painful areas on my right temple (first pic) looks receded a bit. Left temple looks good and straight. Sorry for low quality of pictures bcs my phone camera is broken.

It can't make your hair thinner but If you keep itching/picking at it then you could create scar tissue which would stop your follicles from growing.

Fungal infections which are related to athletes foot like ring worm are serious problems for hair loss. It will basically kill the hair follicles so the sooner you find out what it is the better.

Looks like you never had temple points. Not every child has a NW0 or a NW1 hairline. I've seen children with NW2s. Hair density looks good, and hairline doesn't look it has receded more compared to your child pics.
