I just e-mailed a company that have Minimum 98% of Glycyrrhizic Acid(by UV),
Minimum 60% of Glycyrrhizic Acid(by HPLC).

http://www.tokiwaph.co.jp/products/prod ... orice.html
http://www.tokiwaph.co.jp/products/prod ... orice.html <----effects of the different Glycyrrhizic acids.

They have studies of plants hidden abilities. I asked if they had any studys on Glycyrrhizic Acid on hairloss, and if they are interested in selling some of the powder cause the have inflata too.

I found a spray with Glycyrrhizic acid. It's for Herpes.
Main ingredient: Glycyrrhizic Acid
Polysorbate 80
Propylene
Glycol
Ascorbic Acid
Folic Acid
Aqua
Malic Acid
Fumaric Acid
http://www.aacstore.net/Merchant2/merch ... streatment

A bit interesting to see that besides Glycyrrhizic acid it includes other ingredients that has been discussed used for hairloss.
Anyway it's a no go because all the ingredients would make it hard to tell what Glycyrrhizic acid does alone.

INTERESTING YUBER!

But still indecisive with Licochalcone-A or Glycyrrhizic Acid as the main ingredient against Norwoods!... but both species got both stuff in the root...

I think I just found a supplier of the Glycyrrhiza inflata Bat. in California..Waiting for the answer....

Fantastic work. It also matters what they used to extract it. I think we got what we need, but it would be nice to know we got the best. But for all we know, maybe a water extract is ever stronger than the polyol extract. But what are the odds of that?

I know CCS It is a big ?

Just bought the Chinese Herb Stimulating Shampoo & Conditionner with Outletnutrition.com Goth both for $16.00. A real joke! More than half the price... http://www.outletnutrition.com/851477000044.html

I'll probably put 2-4 grams in 8oz of shampoo. It is just a question of which shampoos I put it in. Maybe I should not risk messing with the Nizoral.

I have no other choice than to add it to my Ginger Shampoo from The Body Works which contains piroctone olamine.

If not that, then Jason's Thin to Thick.

Agreed, I don't want to mess with nizoral.

For the record, I bought the Glycyrrhiza glabra from http://www.herbalextractsplus.com/licorice.cfm#order. There is one spot on the front left of my head that seems to fight anything I give to it. I was just starting to notice a small improvement with white curcumin/applepoly/L-arginine. If anything new starts to show from the licorice, it will definitely be noticeable. Given it will take 2-3 months for any changes.

CCS, do we have a conclusion on a topical yet for the licorice or is the shampoo the best bet for now?

no conclusion. Topicals are usually stronger, I'd think. But it depends if you want to mess with a topical, when this shampoo could be good enough.

Nice find Squeegee. I'm going to order a bottle of shampoo & conditioner today.

Are you going to add more Licorice Extract to the shampoo, or just leave it alone?

Add some..you need the real stuff in there!...I'll make a topical from it and put some before I go to bed because it will be probably very Licorice smelly! I want to try the Licorice inflata species...waiting for e-mails..Just sent a bunches again to some Manufacturers in China. On paper, Both species look to work the same but they use the inflata species for Acne and Rosacea.. But the inflata root extract is tough to find! http://www.bioskinclear.com/ingredients/ will be the best alternative if don't find the bulk powder..

CCS! We need that Inflata b**ch extract!..

A New Dermatological Availability of the Flavonoid Fraction from Licorice Roots-Effect on Acne-
In the course of our studies on the further application of licorice as a cosmetic ingredient, we studied a new dermatological availability in the licorice extract containing licochalcone-A as a main principle, Polyol Soluble Licorice Extract P-U, prepared from the roots of Glycyrrhiza inflata Batalin. As a result, this extract showed several activities such as inhibitory actions of testosterone 5.ALPHA.-reductase, lipase and phospholipase A2, as well as androgen receptor antagonist, antimicrobial and SOD-like actions, which relate to skin care, especially the suppression of acne formation and development. On basis of this evidence, a trial of Polyol Soluble Licorice Extract P-U with acne patients was carried out and the efficacy was demonstrated clinically.

Even if both damn species of Licorice shame the same...Licochalcone A, Glycyrrhetinic acid ....I am still stubborn to get the INFLATA Extract!!

Isoprenoid-substituted phenols of G. inflataG.

inflata is the main species in Xinjiang licorice on Japanese market. In our morphological study of
the licorice, it consisted of G. inflata (51 %), G. eurycarpa (8 %), G. uralensis (3 %), and some unidentified
licorice (38 %)
. About 40 kinds of flavonoids have been isolated from G. inflata. Among them,
20 are isoprenoid-substituted flavonoids.
http://www.iupac.org/publications/pac/2 ... 7x1199.pdf

Yeah, we need the Inflata with the unidentified licorice

Let's hope Mr Yu Hu answers your e-mails Squeegee :)
