Well, so far it got worse. One week after this thread I quit topical application of minoxidil and started taking it orally. Story here.

When I started using finasteride, I noticed they eventually stopped. So I halved my dose to every other day and now I tend to also usually wake up with one on the day I have to take finasteride and usually with none after the day I've taken finasteride. I can live with that. Btw, age 27.

My guess is if you're allergic to the propylene glycol it can make things worse. It sure got worse where I applied it and remained about stable where I didn't.
