I've been taking finasteride for 2 years and I've gotten no side effects; by that's just me. Secondly if I remember correctly minoxidil used to be for blood pressure but it would be taken orally and not topically..

I just started xandrox 15% plus a month ago. I think I'm getting increased shedding at my crown (diffuse area). I hope it starts working after a few months, that'd be grand.

I have the slightest bit of temple recession; my problem area is my crown. I've been using finasteride for about 2 years and my temple has a lot of fuzzy hairs that have been getting longer. My crown doesn't seem to have improved though; but looks like finasteride does work for temples, at least for me.

How're you applying it? If you're applying it right after a shower you may be absorbing it too quickly? I'm not sure how that is maybe make sure your hair is dry before you apply?
