My 61-year-old dad started losing it at 21, and has stayed at Norwood 5.5 since his late 30s. I doubt he's going any higher. (Not counting his alopecia areata, which sometimes makes the back pretty thin.)

Yer right..... Problem is, mine's already pretty long. (four inches). Basically like the guy in that link. It's probably been hiding things for quite some time, long before I was aware of any male pattern baldness. I'm just praying that the very sudden appearance of that spot means it's a late finasteride shed...

Wow. Your "top" photos look almost EXACTLY like me. You have a different hair texture, though. I'm 22. I've been on minoxidil for almost 2 years, and generic finasteride for nearly 10 months. Unfortunately, I think I've gotten a little worse than I was. The thinnish spot in your "dry top"...

Yep, it only takes me about thirty seconds, and I've always been puzzled when people complain about how inconvenient and time-consuming it is.

Deaner: Well, I still think that the above-view drawing of the Norwood 2 is very misleading. I don't think it's accurate. I look just like the "2" guy from the side, but the top? Not by a long shot. I think it needs some adjusting, as this is quite common.
