agreed Pitt is a NW1, maybe not as low as some have but he is not receeding. And Cruises recession (over 10+) yrs is what 5/6/7mm?
Tragic! :sobbing:

Balding means less and less hair, and thats what Tom Cruise is experiencing.

No it does'nt. Balding means the process of going bald ie: smooth skin on top NW5+. Something only about 30% of men ever experience.
Thinning due to age is just very slight hairloss, something about 99% of men get as the age. Even women get it so are they balding aswell?

Tom Cruise is not balding! He's just a middle aged man who's hair is'nt as good as it was in his youth (although its only a slight deterioration).
The same could be said of any aspect of his body skin, muscles ect.

No sane person thinks of Tom or Brad or Pierce as balding.[/quote:3thjf0zt]

Ok whatever its called, hes getting thin(ner) and its too bad...it sucks no mather how old u are and I think especially when your a guy like Tom Cruise...ah well at least hes got Katie and his millions..

Have you guys taken a look at the Norwood scale yet?
Pitt Norwood 2? Cruise NW2?

Can't remember their hair looked like that :dunno:
nw2.gif

However, I don't think those Norwood scales are too correct anyway. I mean it's a pretty big gap from a perfect hairline and a NW1., while NW1 is not much different from NW2.

I've always thought the Norwood scale was a little off.

NW1s here have recession, when in reality there's plenty of NW1s with a perfectly straight hairline. I'd call the NW1 in the pic a NW1.5.

Also, the side and top views don't match up at all, as the top view shows recession while the side view shows closed temples that are actually convex rather than concave.

There is a picture of Brad in one of those tabloid magazines and he definitely is on his way to a NW2. I was really surprised to see that his temples are thinning out but its totally normal for that to happen at his age. Its happening to me as well. However, that may change with this hair serum. I even noticed it when he was at the Oscars but with some creative hairstyling he still looks like a NW1. I am able to do the same with my hair as well. As long as you have a full head of hair you can pretty much pull off a NW1 in most cases.
S.a.f., based on your observations, do you think Pitt or Cruise will ever reach a NW4 if they live to at least 80 and don't use any treatments or get any surgery?

Ok, no way is brad pitt an NW2, I seriously cannot believe people are this critical of him...he has perfect hair
Creative styling to hide his hairloss??? Uhm no. He doesn't have anything to hide.

And Kerzguy you always call yourself an NW2 and the picture you put up of Deniro an NW2. How can you seriously think your hairlines are similiar??? Your somewhere inbetween NW1 and NW2 and closer to the 1 imo.

De Niro's Nw2 looks cooler. NW2's always look better than NW1's in my opinion.

No I dont think they will ever receed that far, I think that they may lose more density in their old age 10/20%. But I would be suprised if they even got to a NW3 recession.
Great hair genetics both of them.

i wont post pics, but im close to a nw2, maybe its my widow peak that makes it look worse, but thats a good photo comparison i think of a Norwood 1 vs Norwood 2, i also agree pitt has some of the best hair out there, def. a Norwood 1.

i also dont think pitt will go bald in his life, i cant see him moving past a Norwood 2, another old guy with great hair is sam elliot, i have never seen anyone talk bout his crazy hair for a guy in his 60s, elliot is a Norwood 1 as well!

Guys, this is NW1. See how the temples go towards the middle of the forehead? NW2 is when the corners of the hairline recede, exactly like pitts.

thats like a Norwood 0, when do you see it on a straight up caucasian guy, hardly ever, and if thats a nw1, than hell, i was never in my life a Norwood 1

Thats what you see on 7 year olds, i.e. the juvenile hairline, or NW1. When the corners recede, you get the "mature hairline", or NW2, like Brad Pitt.
Granted, NW1/2/3, whatever are subjective, and look different on different people, but an NW1 is the hairline you had as a kid, and I doubt that Pitt had those corners as a kid, hence he's an NW2.

The stranger has great hair.
If I had his hair, at his age, I'd grow it out too. Like Jeff Bridges.

Yes you were.

There is no such thing as a Norwood 0.

yeah i know theres no such thing, i just see it as a common thing for people who have an extreme Norwood 1, and i never had a hairline that was that low, look at this crappy drawing, my hairline was like that Norwood 1 i drew since i could even grow hair untill i was about 13, then it moved into the 2 which i am now, it was never like the 3rd drawing, not ever. no matter how dumb the egg heads i drew in the picture are, i think they are a good representation

By kerzyguy's definition, Sam Elliot is NW1.
He's not. In Kerzyguy's drawing, his NW1 is actually an NW2, like Pitt and Elliot. Some are much higher. But those are both NW2's.
I say again, an NW1 is a child's hairline, an NW2 is an adult hairline.
When people on here talk about an NW1 being "perfect", I never understand, because... Who wants to look like a 7 year old?

Pitt is a NW1,
Ronaldo is just one of those few people who have a very low hairline. Abit like that Judge Napolitano just not as extreme.
There is no perfect template for how a hairline should be shaped.
The Norwood scale diagram is just a guide to show typical examples of recession.
Also each person has a different sized forehead
Each person is individual. I've never had a straight hairline in my life its always been a u shape.
Pitt has no recesion just a normal hairline typical of that found on most young men.
