I might be slightly above average looking but have many friends that are average or below average. Yes some of them had issues with women and yes some resorted to hating women. The more they did this, the worse their results got.

Now they are all doing pretty well for themselves. Sure, their GF's are usually less hot than the GF's of my better looking friends (not always) but hey, that's life.

Yes, we have to deal with women who were scorned by chads or their ex husband/boyfriend so they carry a lot more emotional baggage compared to when they were younger. To be honest, you have to have a degree in psychology to date women of my peers. If you have not mastered great communication skills by your 30's, you are going to have huge challenges in a relationship. And unfortunately, looks will fade and if you are still into dating 8s, 9s, or 10s, you will be in for a big challenge unless they are actresses or models still.

I did not say anything about religion. Religion is not the only factor that determines dating behavior I would say. I have dated a rather wide variety of women (not saying I dated tons of women, they just happen to come from completely different areas), from Scandinavian to Colombian and there are quite big cultural differences relationships, intimacy etc.
