You need a dominant sex hormone. That practically means you either transition and take estrogen to mimic the hormonal profile of a female, or you keep androgens as your dominant sex hormone. If you have mild hair loss, the latter is your best bet toward living a normal life as a male. Without a dominant sex hormone you are sure to suffer from bone loss and have a constant strong feeling of unwellness. Only way I could see a man benefiting from estrogen is that if he is balding so rapidly that he is becoming suicidal. Even then, you can be assured that your quality of life will change. If you gain hair back, it may prevent you from committing suicide. But keep in mind you will sacrifice the drive, mindset, energy, and sexual abilities of a normal man. HRT will chemically alter you to a feminine, sensitive, and delicate nature (not just psychologically but also physically), as well as inhibit your ability to reproduce. For some they feel that this trade off is worth it, or at the least better than entering the casket prematurely. It is amazing how little people understand about this subject when there are thousands of pages on this site (as well as the entire internet) dedicated to discussing this very subject.

Anxiousandy is just on cypro. No estradiol. But he isnt side effect free. But its such a shame that people dont know about these damn demodex mites. Nobody would ever need to get on E if only they knew about these mites. Mites loves SEBUM. E and especially bica lowers sebum production which starves the mites and they die or greatly get reduced in numbers which stops further balding. So next time just kill the mites instead of going on E or bica. Thank me later.

It really is a mystery when you chased off everyone taking hrt in this thread
I had nothing to do with this site dying out, nor did I chase anyone off from taking HRT. You cannot name one person who I dissuaded. I'm not sure why you seem so traumatized. The admin shut down the forum because of email spammers. Regardless, what you said is just a drab emotional drivel, and what I said remains true.

I will be the first to admit that, even if I am not a proponent of HRT, I openly confess that I cannot truly understand what it is like to be in the shoes of someone balding of the severe, rapid type.

Those like Almas, for example, who have developed the unfortunate aggressive form, may really have no other chance at having hair without powerful endocrine-altering drugs, as even a transplant may not be a viable option without sufficient donor hair. And, the ailment being so aggressive such that a severe change in the hormonal profile is needed to necessarily halt the progression. Otherwise, a transplant - even if initially successful - might prove futile in a short period of time.

With the only alternative being a hair system or a wig, I could understand the appeal of having found a way to recover one's real hair. If the person has no objective, desire, or need for masculine qualities (or the reproductive function that comes along with it), it is understandable that one may feel the trade-off (as there indeed is one) is worth it for some.

you will sacrifice the drive, mindset, energy, and sexual abilities of a normal man.
To a large extent, that’s an exaggeration. You won’t lose your drive or your mindset, and you’ll keep the same level of aggressiveness if that’s part of your personality. You’ll still be the same person with the same character traits as before. Your claims are based on a stereotypical idea of how testosterone affects behavior. Also, the most significant changes testosterone causes happen because of its effects on the brain during the prenatal period, not from testosterone exposure in adulthood.

A good example is sexual orientation — it doesn’t change with HRT, because prenatal testosterone has already shaped the brain in that regard. Not to mention that the differences between male and female brains aren’t radical and are often exaggerated by macho coaches.
The claim that you’ll lose your “energy” sounds especially strange. I’ve never noticed women constantly feeling sluggish or anything like that. Some people on HRT actually talk about feeling more energized, but that’s usually people who had dysphoria.

A decrease in physical strength is only really a problem if athletic performance is important to you. But even then, for anyone who doesn’t want to end up a bald ugly guy, it might be a reasonable trade-off to sacrifice that for keeping your hair. You might not even notice the loss of strength in everyday life, because you’ll still be stronger than the average woman and it won’t cause any practical problems.

The only really noticeable change is that it might make you a bit more sentimental when it comes to expressing emotions. But again, I was already a sensitive person even before HRT — it’s just that after HRT I sometimes started showing emotions like crying. Of course, you won’t cry when you don’t want to, and it won’t negatively affect your life.

Dude, you’ve never tried E and you think your feelings are exclusive to testosterone. That’s not the case.
