but i don't know if anyone here has tried it without estradiol as a base.
I tried it. I even wrote about my experience here back in 2021. Basically, for some reason, even though it’s a very strong AA, Bicalutamide is completely useless for hair, even at high doses. I kept going bald on Bica + Duta, kept going bald on Bica + Duta + RU. Only estradiol injections actually stopped the hair loss.

don't expect HRT to give you good hair unless you focus on diet and lifestyle.
Diet and lifestyle don’t affect Androgenetic Alopecia. That’s coping. You know how when people don’t know how to deal with a disease, they always start talking about diet and lifestyle—but often it’s just advice for the sake of giving advice.

youre right about the androgenetic element but even people with perfect hair genes will start thinning if they don’t eat correctly. protein intake affects the look of my hair, if i eat inadequate amounts of protein my shedding goes up. i always bring it up because pretty much everyone i know irl gives 0 shits about their diet and look bad as result.

as far as lifestyle goes, its mostly frequent orgasms that im referring to. my irl friend takes hrt (pills to be fair) but is really sexually driven and has very thin hair.

she also eats very little to stay slim and petite, which could be contributing to the hair.

either way, i think it’s irresponsible to say diet is an unimportant factor when it comes to hair. estrogen is important either way but truly i feel you need both factors for a satisfying result

You need a dominant sex hormone. That practically means you either transition and take estrogen to mimic the hormonal profile of a female, or you keep androgens as your dominant sex hormone. If you have mild hair loss, the latter is your best bet toward living a normal life as a male. Without a dominant sex hormone you are sure to suffer from bone loss and have a constant strong feeling of unwellness. Only way I could see a man benefiting from estrogen is that if he is balding so rapidly that he is becoming suicidal. Even then, you can be assured that your quality of life will change. If you gain hair back, it may prevent you from committing suicide. But keep in mind you will sacrifice the drive, mindset, energy, and sexual abilities of a normal man. HRT will chemically alter you to a feminine, sensitive, and delicate nature (not just psychologically but also physically), as well as inhibit your ability to reproduce. For some they feel that this trade off is worth it, or at the least better than entering the casket prematurely. It is amazing how little people understand about this subject when there are thousands of pages on this site (as well as the entire internet) dedicated to discussing this very subject.
