EVERYONE Will Get Finasteride Side-Effects Eventually

would not they go to urologist or endocrinologist after?

Not everyone has the money to go for follow ups or see specialists. Many suffer in silence. Also, because it's not like there's a cure to ED caused by Finasteride and other sexual related health problems caused by Finasteride so they don't see the need. But yes some of them did go to see an Endocrinologist which was useless as it didn't help.

you said:

"3) There have been studies showing people have persistent side effects from around 30% of users up until around 60% of users. There's a lot of new and independent studies been done fortunately."

ignoring that

- in these study all participants were recruited from the forum propeciahelp.com

and you got called out for that a few days ago, yet you keep repeating it. so you are either straight up lying or intellectual to limited to know what what a selection bias is. both doesnt really help your case.

I literally do not see your point. There's nothing that I was "called out for". These are actual studies and the point is people have had persistent sides on Finasteride when it has been said that it is super rare. I also mentioned people who I know personally irl, myself included who had persistent sides, and of course there's a large % on this very forum alone. There's many people who have reported persistent sides not as an actual statistic but often you see it on the comments section of hairloss websites, sub-Reddits, YouTube videos and comments sections and even all hairloss forums. It's obviously really common and far more than you would like people to believe.

an example of your logic:

100% of people are paralysed. there was this study/survey in which they recruited their participants exclusively from a forum for paralysed people. the result was that 100% of the participant were paralysed. thus we can say that 100% of the general population are paralysed.

anything else?

The normal person would find it highly concerning that there are so many people that have had sides from Propecia/Finasteride and still continue to have it, even if that specific study was from people who had side effects from Finasteride.

Infact the question you should ask yourself is, if Finasteride sides are really not permanent or rarely happen, then why is it that so many people who had sides have had long term/permanent sides.

Also, the PFS group is relatively a very small group. It's probably around much less than 1% of the population that experiences sides/persistent sides from Finasteride.

I and all the people I know both irl and online including the people on forums like this don't even use the PFS website nor do we report our sides to the PFS website, nor the FDA, nor Merck.

Its probably only under 1% of people who actually take the time and effort to contact Merck or the FDA or the PFS organization about this. Majority of people don't even know they should be doing that process of reporting systems.

I myself didn't do report it there and I also know that almost all the anti-Finasteride people on this website alone don't even use the PFS website nor do we reference them unless Pro-Finasteride people bring it up first.

Point being, the number of people who take the time to register themselves as a statistic for having negative side effects on Finasteride are tremendously lower than the amount than the statistics Pro-Finasteride studies show.

Hence pro-Finasteride studies can not be trusted to have an accurate number that is a true reflection of those that actually experience side effects on Finasteride compared to those who don't.

dude lets not the point. the point is that you wrote that 60% of ALL finasteride users will experience PERSISTENT side effects:

"3) There have been studies showing people have persistent side effects from around 30% of users up until around 60% of users. There's a lot of new and independent studies been done fortunately."

and thats even though you got called out for this bullshit only 1 day before
so you are either very dumb, knowingly ignoring this info (and knowingly spreading false information) or in a state of cognitive dissonancr where you will ignore everything thar doesnt fit your view on the matter.

all of this doesnt make you look very good.

also lol at your backpedaling…first you referred to the study of propeciahelp and now that every retard realise the selection bias that is going on there you come up with the "okay maybe there isnt a study which back up my claims but its certainly right because my gut feeling tells me so"

f*****g stupid. i wont downplay the risk of fina but you guys are clowns. just lol

There's literally no selection bias nor back peddling. Also, I see you back peddling because I raised a valid point and now you want to focus on something else, you're saying "that's not the point". LOL. You're f*****g stupid.

Also, there was even a poll in this very forum alone that definitely wasn't a PFS website as we have many pro-Finasteride people here. But the outcome of the poll was that there were more people who voted that they hate sides from Finasteride than those who didn't get sides, so LOL.

And that's just on this forum but it was 54.1% voted they experienced side effects on Finasteride.

And I know literally 5 people irl (no joke) who have used Finasteride and have all gotten sides and none of them use hairloss forums nor have they recorded their sides as a statistic on any website/organization that measures those who get sides vs those who dont

Which is exactly the reason why the % of people who do get sides is far greater than those reported.

Also, Big Pharma looks at the number of prescriptions of Finasteride per year in the US (approximately 2 million annually) and just think only under 10% of people don't get sides because from that amount of prescriptions only under +-10% of people report sides to get registered as a statistic.

I know that the majority of people who get sides don't even know where to register their side effects on Finasteride as a statistic.

Most people who get sides simply stop taking Finasteride and stop going to the doctor/dermatologist about it or stop mentioning it to their medical professionals.
So basically just jump off a cliff because finasteride is SUPER EVIL BRO? Sweet. Bye.

When did I say people should jump off a cliff?

There's other safer treatments that don't mess up with peoples hormones and sexual functions. Like Minoxidil + Microneedling is also really effective

I also always tell people of probably safer and more effective treatment on the way like Kintors. There's a lot for people to look forward for, literally don't know why you think I'd want anyone to jump off a cliff.

Given how much stock you put in anecdote I'm surprised you recommend minoxidil. Or haven't you heard of post minoxidil syndrome?

Time to throw out your Kirkland foam, copers.

I know Minoxidil can have side effects, that's obvious. I didn't say it was completely safe, just that it was "safer" relatively. There's a lot less people who complain about sides on Topical Minoxidil than with Finasteride.

Also, isn't this you?

You're the clown. We literally had a fair study as well based on users in this forum who voted in a poll of users who get Finasteride sides vs those who don't and there was 54.1% people who voted for yes they do experience sides/long term sides and you think a % of "60%" that I mentioned is something super far off? LOL. This forum is fulled with BOTH Pro-Finasteride and anti-Finasteride users but that was the results.

Also, I still don't see your point making any difference because even if that one specific study which was carried out for people who experienced side effects on Finasteride but the fact that they STILL experienced side effects is STILL highly concerning. You're a clown dude for thinking that isn't concerning.

Sure is, I was sympathetic to the PFS crowd initially but I haven't been impressed since reading more into it. Fallacious reasoning, piss poor studies, and anecdotes seem to be the foundation. Becoming more convinced that it's a psychogenic condition.

Your posts in this thread being a good example. You seem to either be genuinely struggling to understand what selection bias is or are just refusing to accept that a f*****g poll on a hair loss forum is not in fact a neutral pool to draw from or anything like an actual study.

I have post-dermarolling syndrome, I tried dermarolling once, and it actually regrew my hairline and density, but then the next day the hairs became needle-like and spread over my entire body and I became a porcupine.

If you're concerned with studies, there's literally dozens of studies that prove how bad blocking DHT is and how important DHT for males are.

Pigeon posts a lot of those studies along with others. I could also post those same studies but see no need when he's already discussed it in length. My comments here are basically a summary of those. It could take pages and pages if I were to repost those all those studies.

It's pretty obvious there's some Big Pharma funded studies that don't just come from via Merck but that claim to be "independent" or "neutral" but aren't.

It's really naive of you to believe that just because some studies that just so happen to be pro-Finasteride studies, which follow almost ideal study methods, can't have data/results that is manipulated and falsified.

I mean Merck initially even covered up sexual side effects initially and you think them understating efficacy or side effects is a reach? That's truly naive.
here's a piece from Harvard about FDA:

"The bar for “safe” is equally low, and over the past 30 years, approved drugs have caused an epidemic of harmful side effects, even when properly prescribed. Every week, about 53,000 excess hospitalizations and about 2400 excess deaths occur in the United States among people taking properly prescribed drugs to be healthier.

Prescription drugs are the 4th leading cause of death.

This evidence indicates why we can no longer trust the FDA to carry out its historic mission to protect the public from harmful and ineffective drugs. Strong public demand that government “do something” about periodic drug disasters has played a central role in developing the FDA.2 Yet close, constant contact by companies with FDA staff and officials has contributed to vague, minimal criteria of what “safe” and “effective” mean."

Even those FDA approved studies don't really mean anything, the place is corrupt as hell and that's common knowledge.

And if the FDA is doing this kind of stuff, you really think the other smaller studies which paint Finasteride as mainly good and having minimal sides are accurate? LOL.

If Big Pharma can fund the expensive studies, you seriously are naive enough to believe they would only fund one or 2 studies and just end it there? LOL of course they would easily be able to fund smaller studies and even false marketing like Websites, YouTube videos, bought of scientists, and regulatory body members.

I tried finasteride. 15 years ago.It gave me terrible ED,I was literally castrated.I quit after 6 months and i went back to being normal within 3 weeks.
I tried Duta again in 2011 for 8 months, experiencing the same sides sides.I stopped and i went back to baseline in 1 month
Back on finasteride. in 2018.This time it gave me extremely high libido, brain, fog horrible itchy scalp with acne and oily skin.Life was unlivable mainly because of the itchiness. My scalp was inflamed so much that i could nt touch it with my fingers, so I gave it up after 2 months and i went back to being normal within 2 weeks.
I started finasteride. again 5 months ago.Same extreme sides like the last time but this time i persisted because i felt i ve had nothing to loose.
Within 3 months itchiness and acne went away.Brain fog disappeared 2 weeks after, and libido is almost back to baseline.
I still have oily scalp, but i ve always had oily scalp with psoriasis and seb. dermatitis.
Nothing positive or negative on my hair yet.I am nw2 with diffuse thinning
Glucose level went up to 96 from 78.Lipids LDL 187 from 161 one year ago.Blood pressure is up as well.DHT was normal when i did the test a year ago.I ll do it again at the end of this year. For me finasteride. is borderline unpredictable/dangerous because you dont know what you ll end up with.
I ll give it 2 years and see what happens, but if the above numbers keep on going up,then i ll have to stop

Exactly!!! Glad to see someone brave enough to speak out about their sides on Anti-androgens like Finasteride.
sh*t is dangerous.

I would say though, if everytime you've used it you've experienced sides, I wouldn't use it as you might end up with permanent sides with prolonged use.

You don't trust studies that are conducted by pharmaceutical companies or dermatologists, and you don't trust the FDA approval process.

Are you going to hop on pyrilutamide if it is FDA approved for hair loss? It's a topical AR antagonist with a binding affinity strong enough to compete with DHT. Who knows what this will do to you if it goes systemic either immediately or slowly over time. The only studies you will have to base your decision on will either be conducted by large pharmaceutical companies or dermatologists. No one else has a financial incentive to study it.

What is lacking from the PFS crowd thus far are high quality studies. Ones that actually make a strong case for finasteride being the causative agent in long term sexual dysfunction. So far we've only had snipe hunts for some kind of etiology on the alleged symptoms. These studies invariably are polluted by selection bias, a lack of control groups, and really small sample sizes. What Pigeon posts is largely speculative studies, pointing at some mechanism discovered in rats or something like that. These are a start, but what we need are outcomes in humans. The clinical trials for finasteride were very thorough and make a very clear case. Side effects are indeed rare and a very small amount of people report persistent ones and it is unclear whether finasteride is actually to blame. You need double blind studies with control groups if you want to make the opposite case. Not pointing to a handful of in vitro and animal studies and claiming it is proof positive that Propecia is a castration pill. Your claims simply don't match the evidence you're citing.

And not to fixate too much on this but really, the poll is not a neutral pool. The OP of that poll admitted this. In a real study we would be sorted into a specific group of patients, hair loss forum users. Not general population. Classic reporting bias is that people who feel the need to speak out are typically those with a negative experience. This is well understood in things like hotel and job reviewing. I'm not claiming that this is an anti Propecia board. Just that we are quite divergent from the genpop. A clinician would always make note of where data like that is collected and factor it in.

I'm also genuinely curious. What hypothetical studies would you trust? You've thrown out anything that has to do with the FDA, dermatology, or Merck. So who is supposed to be the fair minded party that would conduct a study?
