Short story: I noticed visible recession / thinning when I was 19, maybe 20... that was the year 2006 or 2007. I am a hybrid between normal male pattern baldness and diffuse thinning. Temple recession has progressed rather slowly, but overall thinning makes it difficult to have a decent haircut nowerdays. I waited to long with treatment. I jumped on Big Three in autumn of 2019 o_O

So let's start with the first photos. The year is 2005, the place... nevermind. As I remember correctly this is May 2005. I was 18 years old back then...

It's a photo scan, so quality is somewhat bla.....

    Next photos are following soon...

    don't ask

Bad enough to induce depressive moods and feeling of worthlessness xD (But luckily enough it progressed quite slowly, so it might be salvageable with Big 4, at least to some degree + some hair transplant in the near future)

I will scan more photos from further years, but not today.

The following is December 2007, according to backside-photo-information (still quite good. At that time I noticed some temple recession, but nothing bad, which you couldn't hide with ease).

March 2011. Hair styling becomes harder and harder. Can't hide temples anymore. Diffuse thinning makes styling nearly impossible. I style it for one hour and then one gust of wind fucks it all up.Too much stress at that time (father becomes more and more immobilized due to Parkinsons and alcoholism, I myself have my worst depressive episode... and other crazy fucked up sh*t going on)

The following photo was taken in December 2011. In 2011 I had my worst hair loss recession so far. Quite brutal and devastating. That's the reason why I buzzcutted my hair in 2012.

Status didn't change that much, imho. Not far from the above photo. Since then it pretty much stopped and stabilized, but I only noticed after my 5-years-long buzzcut phase, when (re)growing it again at the end of 2017...

EDIT: my hair definitely has become somewhat thinner at the front, but the ongoing receding stopped. I will post more photos soon.

You aged kind of quickly, no offence.

Well, it was a fucked up time, lots of stress, depression, hair recession. I looked wasted back then. I am more rested and relaxed now. And that you see...

If you stabilize your situation maybe you can fill the rest up with some transplant.

Btw, are you open to use a hair system?

Looks like maybe you have good density on the crown so a hair transplant could be the answer for you. My hairline is maybe slightly better than yours, but with the rest of your hair still being fairly thick you're in much better shape. If I were you I'd totally get an FUE.

Crown is pretty much okay. Hairline and the front hair is the problem. I hope that my Big 4 regimen will thicken the front. And then I would visit Turkey for a FUE hair transplant.

That's a good plan, I have the same goal. I don't think a hair system is for you. You have too much hair, you don't want to keep shaving it and gluing a rug onto it. I imagine that would damage the hair that you have.
