Fincar is 5mg Finasteride. I have stopped my hair loss and have seen some regrowth on my Fincar+Kirkland minoxidil regimen.

Oops... I wrote it wrong in my post above ...actually its the other way around. Low levels of free testosterone have been associated with higher levels of CHD. I am not making any claims about hair loss.

Fincar cut into quarters is less expensive than Finpecia. In my opinion Fincar (and Finpecia) are as good as the name brand product made by Merck.

I recall reading somewhere that men with higher testosterone levels had a slightly greater chance of having CHD. I am too lazy to search for that now.

I am using 1/4 of a Fincar tablet made by Cipla and while it is too early to determine if the finasteride is having any beneficial effects, I went through the side effects briefly... so I feel reassured that the Fincar tablets are genuine. Cipla is a well regarded firm.

I went to my PCP to get a physical and a prescription for Propecia (though I use Fincar). He had me take a blood test to determine baseline liver enzyme levels, and has asked me to go back for a retest after 2 to 3 months to see if the Finasteride is causing any problems.

faysals, why do you want to reduce the dose to once a day? Are you having severe scalp itch? If so try using a shampoo designed to reduce scalp itch. I use T/Gel and it helps a little.
