Not good. I'd taken finasteride for around a year with somewhat decent maintenance. After swapping to dutasteride, been nothing but shedding and miniaturisation.
I'm sitting at a nw1.5 now and beginning to thin in a diffuse pattern.
6 months on dutasteride. hair has deteriorated as expected. These drugs don't work and users here confirm that fact. They're telogen effluvium initiator drugs.
Next up is cb, and after that, bical.
If you're balding, try finasteride. if it doesnt work, skip dutasteride and head straight to cb and bical.
I got Avodart from oxford online pharmacy. I've been on it since April, and at the very least I've maintained. Maybe some additional thickness, but I can't be sure.
I've always shed a tonne of hair ever since I was a kid, so I can't say whether the hair volume I've shed has increased or not. If...
What topical aa's would you recommend? i'm in the same boat as OP. religious dutasteride, minoxidil, nizoral, dermaroll usage and continued thinning and miniaturisation. I don't care about side effects anymore.
i knew someone would make this comment, i know it is. regardless, ar inhib are pretty ineffective in putting a pause button on balding as evidenced by a lot of users on the forum. theres a lot more talk about their ineffectiveness than their sides on here which says something.
Makes me lmao every time i see someone scared of finasteride
the drug does practically nothing, either positive or negative, it's an extremely weak anti-androgen. same can be said for dutasteride too. the fear of anti androgens is only justified in the case of cb, bical etc. ie stuff that...
i dont think it's really worth it. really only talking 96% of dht inhibition at 0.5mg dose vs 98% at 1-2mg. probably more worth it to invest in a topical aa or ru - something like that. Although i haven't made the leap myself
massive improvement. dutasteride looks to be working with me too after a minor shed
you said your brother is a nw5? that shows the power of 5ar blockers pretty well.
did you have the exact same progression of hairloss prior to you taking finasteride?
the gyno looks absolutely fine. wouldn't worry about it if i were you
atm it seems like the cure to hairloss is breast gland removal and bical
not particularly interested in playing a chemist with all the topicals so this is probably the route ill go down in the inevitable event dutasteride...
