Some people with higher hairlines consider themselves to be NW2.

I think you have a mature hairline and it looks pretty good to me and you dont seem to be thinning.

I dont understand why everbody is looking for clarification on what norwood scale they are. If you are trying to establish whether or nor you're balding, only you can truly know. But to me you look like a norwood 1, no loss, no thinning and no recession.

Here is the scale, decide for yourself.

OMG you guys have no clue what the Norwood scale is about. Really. Norwood 2? WTF, than how does a Norwood 0 (non balding) look like?

@op: you're a Norwood 1 MAX.

LOL, what you´re talking about?

There isnt even a NW0.

NW1 means no recession, he has recession, not too much, so thats why I said NW2/NW2-.

But whatever your Norwood is, it doesnt really matter. What matters is that your hair looks good!

I have about the same hairline, but I am thinning as well, so thats sucks.

Norwood 1 is the first stage. You want to tell me that a Norwood 1 in the above scale is a full hairline? And this guy is a Norwood 2? I guess you're refering to another scale. :dunno:

He is a NW1 bordering on a NW2 only because his recession is almost in line with the beginning of his sideburns.

Well no one has an NW1 after his 20's since you always get a matured hairline then but it doesnt mean that his hairline receided .

to be honest you can devide him into 2 stages , an NW1 or 2 but he surely isnt an NW2 but also not NW1 since thats a juvenile hairline .

anyway he has a pretty neat hairline as far as i can tell .

btw sorry for all the typos :D .

According to the scale pic Norwood 1 is balding. It's easy to decide, if you look at the top look.

Yeah I know what you mean, it looks a bit like NW1 is receided, but NW1 actually means no receiding, there is no NW0, thats why it confusing.

The overhead NW1 diagram is confusing but the fact is there is nothing less than NW1, and not everyone starts at nw1 level also nw2 does not necessarily mean m.p.b.

Thank you for the answers guys. My temples look worse in here:

You have a small amount of recession but a very strong hairline.

There's a very good chance your hair has looked like this for a long time and you are just now noticing it :)

NW1 is not balding. I don't know how anyone could think that.

go to the mirror, crinkle your brow, and you'll see that the sides rise up more than the middle. that's why the NW1 hairline has those little dips.

and a NW2 has the same shape, roughly, as an NW1, it's just "offset" by that little bit of bare skin.

Thank you, that was informative. You're probably right. I always had temples going inwards (I'm 30 now) but I had been noticing this more lately when I wash my face.

Here is a photo from 5 years ago.

There is no such thing as NW0. Most non-balding men have an NW2. Rarely you see an NW1 on a mature white man. An NW1 is a teenage hairline and is rare on grown men.
