The first post yes, then it went back and forth about whether its real or not and how it looks. Its not relevant and annoying to scroll trough endless unrelated posts.

post reads like perhaps you have not done basic research on this treatment or been a part of past discussion at length.

go read the pipeline page and old threads on Tsugi and maybe stop worry about scrolling through 3 or 4 posts you find annoying.

I have contacted Tsuji in order to have some news about their technology and since the last great interview made by HTT (published on september 2016).

News :
1. Recently, we successfully developed an expansion method of hair follicle-derived stem cells.
2. Next step: Trying to challenge of the expansion of human-derived cells
3. Clinical application in human at March 2019 (expected)

By hair follicle-derived stem cells I assume he means the relevant cells in the hair follicles, such as DP cells and epithelial cells. If that is what he means then Tsuji now has a method for expanding these cells (while preserving inductivty) that he believes will work, but he still has to test it. This is progress over where he was when Team Tsuji was interviewed because (it's my recollection that) during the interview they said they had some ideas about ways to proceed with expansion of the cells. Now they say they have selected the method to use.

It's good news. It's progress. They've now settled on their expansion method. But they still have to test the expansion method they've settled on. They believe the method will work.

what ? he's implying that they already tested the method with success on non-human animals.

i think it takes time to publish the results.

You know, I had just gone and run an errand and when I got back I saw your post. While I was on the errand I decided something similar to what you're saying. I decided that they must have done some kind of testing in order to decide on the method to use. I'm not sure they did animal testng but they must have done some form of testing.

Since they won't be trying it on humans for at least a year and a half I think that means they still have to do some animal testing. But they probably did succesful testing in a petri dish already.

yes i'm not sure it was tested on animals, but he is clearly confirming that they did some kind of test successfully.

I hope they start human testing in January 2019. We need to get this show on the road.

Great news! As was said before, if this method works and is noticeably better than existing methods(i.e hair transplants and the big three), then who would stop them from doing the procedure anywhere outside of Japan? Observe the many bogus stem cell treatments offered by clinics in even the U.S. where the FDA is supposedly regulating the field. If this works and doesn't kill anybody, we can expect the procedure to be offered in clinics and probably even before federal approval is granted.

Don't forget Kyocera is working on the production process
Riken perfects their method - makes sure it works on human cells
Approval of trials
Some hair congresses
Hairlosstalk losing its sh*t over the tiniest of details for the next 3-4 years

i think it takes time to publish the results.

It can take months for results to publish. I've seen where it took 18 months for results to publish. Sometimes researchers don't bother submitting results to publcations for publishing. And this could be one of those times because Tsuhi doesn't need to do a paper for this type of research and it's not academic research. This is the type of information Tsuji would put together for submission to regulatory agencies like the FDA.

Well, in the USA the FDA could and would stop them.

There are a number of reasons why the FDA would stop them.

So, is it possible to have this as a preemptive method? Transplant 30000 primordiums over a diffusing area? That would be great, instead of waiting till you're bald to get this.

What about all those phase 1 and phase 2 trials that have to be done? No approvement? I know in Japan there is no phase 3, but don't they have do them?

They want to start human trials in 2019, wouldn't it take much longer with all the phases then the one year to release in 2020?

It's my understanding that they really only have to complete one human study (safety study phase 1) in Japan in order to start the early commercialization process. If they start a human safety study in Japan in January 2019 it would be completed inside of 18 months, and that would include submitting the info to the Japanese regulatory agency. If the Japanese regulatory agency approved the treatment for early commercialization it could be avalable in the later half of 2020.
