well ppl u r not gonna like this but it's going to take more than a year for sure. (2018 that's a long time)

Upside - they are still updating and not making up or lying and they promised to show photos (yep, that's all we need). Since they are so sincere in their trials, i don't think they are scams. They are onto something big maybe. RCH01 may show regrowth to an extent if not full head hair and that is far better considering the medications that we have now.

Downside - won't be getting any visual updates in 2017 from them just data and data and moreover, we are lacking patience.
will try to contact histogen next time but man, they take a lot of time to reply. (i almost forgot i asked replicel all these until it popped up today suddenly from nowhere)

If their initial study is anything to judge by, they are not onto something big.
Not only were their results mediocre; they also said they used a high dose of medicine.
I think the only way they could possibly produce "big" results is to do follow-up repeat injections.

Not only that, they're not actually going to give information to you. If they do, they're not legit.

It's ironic how these maintenance treatments can't accurately be called that in the personal sense, because by the time the treatment comes out our hair will be gone.

I think about this all the time and it drives me insane

that's the problem with our society,
if they don't give information and update us and go silent ( just like histogen) then they are scams.
if they do give information ( tho the info was just about release of their results ) then also they are scams.
Kindly tell me who are not scams in your theory ?

I'll be happy to kindly tell you.

If they give you any information that hasn't been publicly released, they're scams

I hope that clears it up, if you have further questions, I'll be happy to help.

^I think there's enough reason to believe their treatment grows some hair. But I don't think it will be very successful. It is disappointing (but not surprising) that after all this time their method will be dermabrasion + minoxidil. We knew 10 years ago that it would be dermabrasion + a topical....could have gotten there a little faster though.

I feel like creating new follicles is vastly more important than whether or not they've come up with a novel topical. Hopefully compounding Follica with things like Histogen and samumed will be able to bring vellus hairs into a terminal state and do so relatively quickly.

If that's all it is then why don't they just release it today? Minoxidil and dermabrasion are both FDA approved and readily available. Doesn't that tell us that there could be some additional tweak to their treatment?

That is exactly the problem for Follica (if their treatment works). Dermabrasion is an outpatient procedure. You could go to a derm who would dermabrade your scalp under anasthesia and you'd spray minoxidil when you get home. If that's all it takes, then how will Follica make money? Follica's way has basically been about a procedure that uses already FDA-approved drugs.

So Follica's solution is to package that process into devices. I'm guessing there is one product that the doctor can use in the clinic and then some sort of delivery device. Those devices need approval. . You can't patent a hair transplant, but you can patent and sell the tools. But this is just a guess, maybe they have something else, who knows?

I agree that this may have potential. If SM is ever released, I could see Follica adding an SM topical to their platform.

"...another year or more."

...

Pathetic.

Not really. It's not like they ever promised it was coming out in 2018; just that it was possible.

Just a personal anecdote here that I know wont apply to everyone. I decided to try finasteride despite the horror stories and I've grown back all of my hairline. If I hadn't taken it, there's a good chance that I'd be full on suicidal by now. I would recommend it to anyone losing their hair. But once again I'd like to acknowledge that my case isn't representative of what everyone experiences.

If Follica just has some new device to perform dermabrasion on your scalp, with the end result being that Follica's new device doesn't dermabrase the scalp any different/better than already existing devices used to perform dermabrasion, then why would doctors waste money to buy Follica's new dermabrasion device when those same doctors already have dermabrasion devices that produce the same end result?

Are doctors really that stupid?

And why would customers pay extra for a new spray version of Minoxidil sold by Follica if that Follica version of minoxidil is formulated the exact same as $30 minoxidil from J & J, which also comes in a spray?

Still think Follica's a good investment, boss?

The vast majority of men who have just started balding will be fine and keep their hair long enough until something better comes along if they get on "the big 3" today.

Anyway,

I think that along with Tsuji, this is the thing in the pipeline that I hope works out the most. If it only maintains hair, it's a win; if it can regrow a fullhead of hair; it's better than Tsuji.
