So I've been home sick from school today so I figured I'd research both this and Shiseido's treatment, as I believe they are both likely to release at some point in the near future (especially Shiseido) So this is obviously based on the assumption that both these products work as stated so take this concept with a grain of salt.
So Brotzu has stated that the lotion has had excellent results in those with Androgenic Alopecia (i know this is up for debate but as i said this is based on the hypothetically assumption that this is true) Now what does excellent mean? Honestly we have no idea, BEPS and Spiga both claimed that norwoods can be reversed but there is currently no proof for or against these statements. However, Brotzu said the the "problem" with this product is that those who used the lotion would have to use it forever because while lotion prevents the effects of the hormones on the hair follicles it does not eliminate them. So basically it'll regrow hair but should you stop using it the hair will fall out as it did before.
HOWEVER (again based on assumption)
Shiseido's treatment involves taking cells from DHT immune follicles and injecting them into areas of hairloss to make them DHT resistant. Based off the phase I trial (done by replicel) all participants were able to stabilize their hairloss meaning that all the hair they currently had became resistant to the DHT (for how long we don't know, the assumption is you would have to repeat the process every year or so at the moment.)
So hypothetically speaking, it could potentially be possible to use Brotzu's lotion for a period of time (lets say 6 months to a year, however long it takes to achieve maximum results) then go to Shiseido and get those follicles immune to the DHT. Therefore there would no longer be a need to use the lotion as long as you kept up with getting the RCH-01 procedure every year or so, (or however long it last for).
Now obviously we can't have any way of knowing this at the moment as neither of these products are out. I know that in the case of finasteride and minoxidil this doesn't apply but we are dealing with two completely new kinds of treatment especially with Shiseido using cells to immunize. So it may not be that far out of the realm of possibility. Also meaning that this combo would be a godsend to anyone who is a good responder to the Brotzu product. (or even finasteride, as I know many people are jumping off that ship once RCH-01 comes out)
Anyways thanks for listening to my sickly hypothetical theory, I look forward to having a civilized discussion when I return from getting Ice-cream.
