Look at all my pictures throughout this tread dude..... you'll see what I mean...

I have, and then i saw your most recent one and it doesn't look even half as bad as what you made it out to be, maybe take some new ones on the same angles as your others, from the top etc. Keep in mind I'm not trying to say this godzilla of a shed was all in your head and it never happened.

Just thougth I would upload some new pics that i took today to compare to my basline pics of BEFORE i started the meds... you can STILL see how bad im shedding... its scary.... i hope getting off propecia will be the rigth choice..

I hope I get all my hair back after propecia destoryed it.


I also want to add that my eyebrow hair has been falling out like crazy i lost like 60% of the eyebrow hair...


URHHHHHHHHHHHHH i hope I recover what this damn pill has caused me!! What do you guys think ??

ok .. so I was gona wait until july 4th to add an update on what my hair looks like AFTER i stopped using propecia ... as you guys may know my hair STARTED to thin so I jumped on the first signs I saw ... my hair began thinning really bad after 5 + months after taking it so I stopped... It has been close to 4 weeks now and I have been off the sh*t... i'll post some pics below ... tell me what you guys think.... right before I got off propecia I buzzed my hair agian.... and 4 weeks later here at the results(i just also got a hair cut agian) .... hair is not as bad .. THANK GOD ... everyone seems to think that I NOW need rogain according to some on this tread... i dont think so ... doctors think that stress and propecia caused Telogen Effluvium i don't really know for sure... anyway im using nothing now ... i'm hoping to return to basline ...


As stated before to get a clearly understanding of my past pics go back and look throughout my page to see past pictures of basline and after i shedding for 5+ months ...

I also used the brightest lighting possable so that I could not pretend i was getting better.

Your hair looks a lot better. So you think getting off finasteride made it better? How is the thyroid thing? How long did it take for you to see results after quitting?

i kinda what get back on propecia...but it could make my hair loss worse.. and if it did work it will only last 2-5 years...l

Propecia's effect can last more then 2-5 years, you shouldn't put a time frame on how long it will work for you since it effects everyone differently, there's been people on it for 6+ years and it still maintained what they had, it's just the regrowth factor i believe that drops off after some time.

I read your story.

Okay Im having the same shedding you had only i had receding hairline before the propecia and you had the diffuse kind.

Okay im past 7 months and it is still thinning. IM in the same pickel as you.

So was the propecia affecting your thyroid wich gave you Telogen Effluvium?

I dont wanna quit cause the propecia is halting my sort of slowing my recession but im thinning everywhere including the back of my head. Im gonna call my practioner and get my blood tested. I had the test before and there was nothing accept male pattern baldness. Ill give you the heads up what they say.

So what is you plan now to stop the male pattern baldness thinning. Are you gonna try laser?

Im gonna take great picture to show how much my hair will improve once i get off propecia.

These new pics of yours are only couple of weeks after you said you quit finasteride so your hair hasnt thickened up that quick. Its impossible. So basically your hair looks thin when its buzzed...a bit like mine. In cases like that finasteride is the answer. As you have stopped i dont know where your hair is going to go from here. If you have male pattern baldness you will still keep losing hair. To be honest i dont know why you buzzed your hair. It freaked you out. If you had kept it long and jus took the finasteride and forgot about everything i dont think this saga would have unfolded. Only you know how much hair your losing and without meds its only going to get worse i think.

adding minoxidil couldn't hurt your situation but its kinda of a pain to use

i guess it just depends on how desperate you are to regrow and keep your existing hair

Dude, I thought you were gonna wait to see if your Telogen Effluvium recovers. Your gonna be so lost going off and on again. You said you were gonna wait 3 months to see what happens then go full force on the big 3. You havnt given it enough time to let your Telogen Effluvium recover. It takes 3 months to let Telogen Effluvium recover. Look it up. The information on the web says 3 months. Your gonna be so lost with you throwing all these things into your regiment and your not waiting long enough to see how your hair reacts to each treatment.

Can you let me know how the hairloss in the donor area/ sides changed while on your 5 week break?. How did itching/shedding/irritation change?

I need to know I am 7/5 months now and still diffusely shedding all hair on my head including donor/sides.

Hey,

I realized you have no pics of your thinness on the sides/ donor hair. Can you upload them for me?

I think since you dont notices it thinning anymore the Telogen Effluvium must have stopped. I wanna check if you had some of the following symptoms that i have while on propecia and if theyve gone away off propecia: Itchy scalp all in all areas, little bulbs on your scalp, red pimple looking things.

Do you see new sprout of hair coming anywhere especially the non-male pattern baldness areas?

Thanks for helping me out and answering my questions. Your the only person Ive found with the same reaction to propecia as me.

Hm, I haven't read all 15 pages now, however throwing in some questions:

1.) Why did you start taking propecia? Did you notice some diffuse thinning?
2.) It seems that your hair has recovered after quitting finasteride. is that still that case?
3.) Does male pattern baldness run in your family? (EDIT: Ok, fount it in first post.)
4.) Could you post a pic where your pulling back your hairline to expose it?

I'm kind of in the same boat regarding Proscar. 3 weeks ago a specialist told me I had a good chance of keeping what I had while on it. 2 days ago A family physician told me to quit the Proscar.

It's been on my mind a few weeks to quit - but I don't think I should. I'd love to know how it works for you Irish, but your hair is slightly thicker then mine and I'm badly receded.

Lately I have. I chalk it up to being on the Rogaine foam a month and a half now. But over the past years - I have felt an intense (not pleasent) tingling on my scalp. Like pins and needles or something. And when applying minoxidil foam in the morning my scalp will slightly sting.

yea I've def. noticed my head feels itchy in the thinning areas a lot !! , i've never had dandruff and still don't but my head tingles and itchys often on the top where i am diffusing..

ryan, i donno if your blood tests will show what happened since you got off propecia and dont have thinning anymore. i wanna get my blood tested before getting off propecia. i think propecia may have triggered something in my body and the blood tests will find it. have you found Telogen Effluvium pics on the web? i cant find any showing the back and ssides

Hey Ryan,

I looked at your May 29th photos, your hair looks ways thicker just a month off propecia. I wanted to see the sides and back of your hair before you quit but i dont think you have photos of that. I have to say you can see no scalp in your may 29th photos. COngrats. Im about to make the same leap you did.

Could you post photos of your hair loss on the sides and back while you were on propecia?
