I don't know. Like Twist1, Twist2 also has opposing effects depending on dimer composition. It could be that the balance of Twist2 dimer composition is altered in Androgenetic Alopecia, and that increases its ability to recruit HDAC2 even though there is less Twist2.
Since we know how Twist2's negative effects are mediated it would be better to just inhibit HDAC2 and maybe promote reacetylation with p300.
