why would i want to hit nw2 in the first place though

Listen dude, I'm in the same position as you and im ur age too so take this advice with a grain of salt. I suggest you do at least try finasteride for now. Try a lower dose like 0.5mg every other day for like 8-12 months and then reevaluate. If you have side effects then get off right away but otherwise theres no harm in trying. Best case scenario, you get no sides and it slows down loss.Worst case scenario is you think that ur not losing hair and u just let it go for now and then 3-4 yrs and when ur nw2.5 youll whish u atleast tried to take finasteride in 2018. All im saying is theres no harm in trying.

Derms are dumb sometimes, i went to see 2 derms and since i have long hair they said: oh you are loosing your hair but its not noticable so wait until it gets worst then i'll give you a prescription.

my derm said the same thing in december. Well its March now and it def did get worse I lost a lot of ground.

So she gave me a prescription for "cystiphane" (which is a hair loss lotion?) and "L'erborario folta chioma" shampoo which is god knows what or just to take minoxidil 5%. Also told me she does PRP treatments. Still no fina, offered to prescript me "Prostamol Uno" which as she said is "about the same but without the side effects and also blocks the alpha5" (which idk how could be possible without fina in it.)

Not to be sexist but female derms/doctors tend to be really bad for treating male pattern baldness. They really tend not to be very understanding about how the process accepts men. Cause and point- your derm - just accept it - but let me sell you bullshit that doesn’t work.

Go find a male hair loss expert

Did you ask for finasteride? Also go see a hair loss specialist
she seemed to be quite knowledgeable on the topic . I Mentioned fina but she said in her opinion it's not worth the risk and Prostomol has similar effect with no sides (which i call bs on)

you see, the thing is she knew fina works but didnt want to take the risk and prescribe it. Told me to get on minoxidil and come back for re-evaluation

I dont know. There is nothing wrong with waiting for it to get a little worse, and see the direction it goes. See if it speeds up or its male pattern baldness for sure and not a mature hairline.
You want to be sure its male pattern baldness, and have some visible hair loss before doing it IMO. It looks very very minor to me. Take pictures in a year and wait. You have plenty of time, but once you start propecia its a life long thing.

Man I hope these new treatments succeed. Going from nw0 to 2 in a year, who knows what happens in 2-3 more

Bro you have to go get finasteride from a different doctor. I promise you if you wait a few more years you will come back to this forum as a NW4 and this time there will be no hope.
