I’ve been following your thread closely over the last few months as I also consider myself to be in the camp of 40 somethings that had a strong baseline but experienced a rapid decline over a seemingly short period.
I appreciate you sharing the advice and treatment options you’ve gotten from specialists. No matter the age or how much hair you still have left, the fact that it is steadily declining really messes with you. I know all about that, I’ve been in that same endless sh*t storm for a few years now. Some days are better than others and I don’t care but I find that when I am stressed about other things in my life I tend to focus even more negatively on my hair situation. Trying to recognize these patterns and find ways to counter those thoughts is hard but I feel like it’s the only element you can control in a situation like this
Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with topical dustastride or any treatments beyond the oral finasteride and rogaine foam I’ve used for the last 15+ years. Despite having been on those treatments since my early 20s, I’ve taken a real hit in density all over starting at around 38 (I’m now 40)
Have you considered cutting your hair shorter? If you are dealing with miniaturized hair as I am, longer hair tends to magnify it in my opinion. Not saying what you have looks bad at all, just that you might like how it looks shorter. Changing it up might help you find a new baseline instead of comparing your current hair status to what you had even 2-3 years ago
I hope the new treatment works out for you man. Try to find someone you can talk to about it, it really does help
