The ptd-dbm study showed better regrowth with VPA spraid post wounding and peptide application but the Follica one didn't. Would be great to have people experiment with or without.

Either those, PGE2, or estrogen.

If you use latan or minoxidil it's forever. You stop using it and back to square one. I wonder if after pge2 or estrogen regrowth you still have to be hooked to it or can you go back to maintenance with AA only?

Anecdotally, many people I've talked to who've done the PG protocol maintain all their gains using dutasteride or other AA treatments. Which is what you would expect; why would hair die when there's no more damage being done? Something is weird about new hairs grown with minoxidil.

That's the part l couldn't grok. Are your hair only able to survive with minoxidil if they were triggered by minoxidil? Weird stuff. Maybe one day,, it will all come together and make sense.

Perhaps it functions as a temporary dilatant for critical constrictions, in/around the follicle.

Interesting observation: After several sessions it feels as though my scalp is much less sensitive to the pain of needling, at first .5mm on naked scalp felt like hell, now i barely feel it. All else being equal.

Are there any signs yet that the follica based protocol works better than 'normal' needling?

It's a lot less painful for me to do the Follica protocol than 2.5mm biweekly, so there's that. I have not noticed any improvement though .

Is there any point to follica if I don't want to apply minoxidil/finasteride on my scalp?

Are you balding? If the answer is yes, then Fina & minoxidil are pretty much a given. Wounding is one more weapon in your arsenal, it can not be the only one.

There's probably not much point in thinking about hair loss if you don't want to do that. There are alternatives, but I doubt you would go for those either.

minoxidil is out of the question for me, not risking screwing my face over, finasteride I'm still pondering over, idk where to get topical finasteride anyway, but since it goes systematic then I might as well go for oral finasteride if I'm willing to do topical finasteride

To each their own. I am a little puzzled that someone would consider wounding alone without following a protocol if the study showed best results with minoxidil. Maybe adding onion juice and apple cider vinegar and taking saw palmetto and biotin for the most risk adverse folks?

I'm a little new to all of this. How would using minoxidil screw your face over?

they have no idea what they are talking about, there could be side effects to using minoxidil, such has making your face more hairy, aging your skin and also creating black circles around your eyes, minoxidil can deplete the collagen in your skin, it can also bloat your face by water retention.

those people above me who say minoxidil does nothing are the same people who say finasteride can't make any side effects
