He looks way better than he did before. Sure the hair behind the front is thin, but in the grand scheme of things he just looks like a normal young dude!Yeah most likely it will never happen (become a fullhead via just surgery) but with good donor and strategic placement of grafts with a specialist surgeon, it may be possible to grow it out and have a trendy cut. That does go a long way and can put the guy on a level playing field. Of course if the donor is too diffuse you can't do fades or having to resort to combovers, all this matters and then the transplant is a bit pointless. There are advantages and disadvantages to it all but even if the donor is diffuse and the top is too thin after surgery, you can shave it and maintain a buzzcut. Still, relatively nice for girls and a confidence boost to self. If someone can pull off the bald look very well they should leave it as it is or opt for the buzzcut look following surgery if they really crave it.
@justinbieberscombover had medium hair calibre and was a Norwood 5, he showed me close ups, sure it was thin but uniform, symmetrical throughout and really well slicked to the side. All this makes a world of difference.
Check out mattdominance, he has a mature hairline but look how thin his hair overall is after 3 transplants I think, he didn't take finasteride and took his hair apart for the camera. Sure it's far from full but do you think he would look better with a combover/bald head/asymmetry on top? His donor has taken a beating but is not too bad. Take out the beard, muscles and hair fade too where does it leave him? It all makes a huge difference. He may be totally unattractive without all that.
Luckily I think I will look pretty good with a buzzcut after the transplant.. we will have a better idea in approx 4 weeks. If I totally love it and get compliments for it, maybe I will just make it my permanent look and move on with life. If not, I can always grow it back to the fade style, I got nothing to lose.
