Hardly any change from 5 years ago. When did your dad start losing hair?
appreciate the reply. Late 20's I think, but thinned I think, my hair is still very thick but temple points of course worry me slightly ( small difference in 5 years but is minor considering that is a v long time). IRL my hairline is still better than most of my peers for sure, its just don't want to get complacent as I know could easily recede under my nose

You are fine still. Looks almost exactly the same. See you in 6 months.
Thanks, has it changed to your eye much? To me has slightly possibly, but 5 years is a while, that was from 19-24. Will be back with pics more regularly. Won't start finasteride if this forum reckons It isn't legit receding

Your temples are clearly receding and at a pace faster than expected. We’ve been monitoring your situation and we’ve further discussed and evaluated your situation amongst ourselves since September of 2016, we’ve deduced you will be a Norwood 6 within the span of 36-48 months.

No, nothing can stop it, there’s no hope.

I’m messing with you bud, it looks pretty good, but you are your best critic. I doubt you’d constantly question it if you didnt notice anything. Just keep in mind the sooner you catch it and the sooner you start treatment the better.

I haven't questioned it properly since 2016 really, just wondering if looked like much difference in the 5 years as I tend to overthink it hugely, I'll post pics more regularly of, cheers

Thanks for the reply. So is it balding, or is it normal for it to thin? Is it worth to start treatments yet?
Everyone develops a mature hairline. And 8f you try to stop a mature hairline, good luck. It's a losing battle as those hairs are the most sensitive to aging and dht.

Ok fair enough, is mature hairline NW1 then or Norwood 1.5? Yeah I used to have a Norwood 0/0.5 i think but not since prior to 18

Norwood 0 is kinda a joke made on hair loss forums. It's like describing a Norwood 1 with a low natural hairline. Everyone starts at Norwood 1.
A mature hairline is like Norwood 1.5 or in some cases Norwood 2 (see ryan Reynolds). But once you go past Norwood 2 you will be a hair loss sufferer. I think at Norwood 2.5 is when people notice it, at least that's when I did and started treatment. It is also the point where you constantly check your hairline like 50 times a day.

Norwood 3 to 3.5 is when you officially have a noticeable receding hairline and when women start to treat you worse.

Norwood 4 to 5 is basically your last chance to recover your hair with surgery and follow it with hair loss prevention.

Norwood 6 is where you can get surgery but you will have to lower expectations. I.e. have lousy density in the crown area and focus more on the temples, frontal forelock, and midscalp (this is the region between the ears). Could take 2-3 sessions and it is absolutely crucial you get a good surgeon.

Norwood 7 it's over for you. No surgeon will touch you and you have to pray for a cure.

Hey guys, decided im gonna get bloods done then get on finasteride for prevention, as do think if i dont i wont be able to preserve a nw1 for much longer in the future due to dad being bald and my corners looking a bit suspect. Hopefully no sides- what are the blood tests I should look to get to then assess results of before starting finasteride? Thanks!

You honestly don’t need to .

You have a teenagers hairline . I think your dad being an NW7 has made you cautious that genetically you could do down this route and maybe in the future you will but definitely no sign now .

honestly switch off worrying and check every six months . Unless you see any signs don’t explore meds or bloods . Waste of money and energy .

First sign I had of balding was shedding in shower. Saw 50 to 100 hairs every time. A lot of people say thst 50-100 is normal, BUT this is just in the shower, not while asleep, walking, being outside, etc. Another sign was hair on pillow.

Check your pillow and get a hair trap in the shower. Also check your hair under lighting for thinning. I unfortunately had poor lighting in my bathroom and never caught it in time. Now I'm heading to Norwood 3.
