like many of you, i was pretty pissed off to find that this was taken off the market. funny thing is i had just placed an order with Perfectimagesolutions a few weeks ago and i was debating whether to stock up more or not. i guess it was right before they got shut down. I only found out because i was recommending the solution to a friend and i went to their website and saw it was down. after doing some research, i found out the whole scope of the situation.
this is typical FDA taking a product off the market that helps people but because they don't profit from it, they want to shut it down.
i have enough to last me about 90 days if i use it at it's current rate, and needless to say i am a bit scared although i have never used the 5% before.all i know was that 15% minoxidil and 5% aa worked for me, combined with nizoral shampoo. i had some mild temporal thinning and "maturation" of my right peak and that combination gave me the same hairline i had when i was 19 (i.e. almost completely straight)
As far as "what's next"....
well, there's two things i can think of.
a.) an overseas company sees this as an opportunity and starts compounding/manufacturing it, allowing us to order it internationally. not much different than the people who order nizoral 2% from abroad. i can hope this is the case
b.) people start getting crafty and ordering minoxidil powder, and creating our own solutions. i'm sure eventually there will be a "how to" guide posted on recreating the solution in a homebrew type method. It doesn't seem like a very difficult conversion process based on the ingredients, especially considering it's a topical solution.
just like when ephedra was banned years ago, people found ways to get around it. i don't think this will be any different. i just hope it comes sooner than later so i'm not stuck
