Cheers mate, yeah I got brand name through Lloyd’s as well. Feel 10x better now in my head knowing that I am no longer going to worry if generic is having an adverse effect.
None taken. But nah it’s not in my head - I’ve one million % lost density over the past couple of months, and my temples have crept back slightly.
Aye, Propecia wasn’t perfect, it is no miracle drug, but I definitely shed less on that. Like I said earlier in the thread, I definitely experienced...
Just a little update as I near the end of my finasteride course, I definitely think the enforced switch from Propecia has been to my detriment. I’m starting to notice recession and loss of density, coinciding with more shedding.
hopefully when I get back on Propecia I’ll see some regrowing...
I think when my generic finasteride runs out in a month I’ll hop back on brand-name through Lloyd’s.
not getting any better for me since my switch. Definitely going through a shed which I imagine was induced by generic. Unless it’s a seasonal shed? But it’s just odd how I done 16 months or so...
I definitely will report back! As it stands, I have 5 weeks left of generic but Propecia is still out of stock - I could have to persist with generic if Propecia is gonna be our of stock for a while.
Also, this morning I experienced yet again a worse than usual shower. Does feel like about 15%...
Unfortunately I’m going to have to ride this one out. I wouldn’t say I’ve experienced a perfect ride on Propecia anyway, my scalp itch has never fully went away and the shedding has never stopped, though it lessened.
The generic finasteride I’ve ordered from boots is only a few quid less than...
I’ve had to switch from brand name propecia to generic because Boots are out.
on about week 6 now since the switch and it was going alright but in the past week or so my sex drive has gone up and I’m shedding more. Hopefully nothing to worry about and I’m just experiencing a bad patch
will...
You’ve said there in the third paragraph you had the symptom before starting finasteride... and in the second paragraph you were raving about how the drug has had a positive impact thus far.
Ultimately, it’s your choice. Finasteride is pretty much the best form of defence for hair loss. Make...
Sometimes you have to wash your hair every day. I do, otherwise my scalp gets sore, tightens and itches (and I’m on 1mg Propecia daily).
I haven’t found the answer to a shampoo yet. Tried everything and haven’t really found a consistent solution.
From personal experience I would recommended...
How long did it take to more or less kill the itch? Also do you shed hair or did Fina stop that? If so, how long before you stopped shedding?
Sorry for all the questions! Just curious.
I’ve had some success with a topical steroid called betamethasone but it’s not meant for long term use, and to be fair started to lose its effectiveness after 6 weeks or so.
Antihistamines helped in the beginning also.
I’m currently one month into propecia. Hasn’t done anything to relieve the...
Yeah man, I’ll keep you updated. And thank you, I hope I see something positive too.
That’s exactly it. Even though my hair loss has occurred for years, because I had thick long hair I’ve been able to conceal the thinning quite well by getting shorter and shorter haircuts, but the shedding just...
I’m in the same boat. Been a persistent shedder for about 3 or 4 years and my density is getting worse and worse, and whilst there is a fear of a finasteride-induced shed, if I do nothing I think i’ll be fucked anyway.
Picking up a prescription today and plan to start tonight.
Along with...
