Funny coincidence; I just got a new piece (from a different company that ships from a Chinese factory) and the plastic shell it ships attached to was smashed in. I was a little worried the sharp creased parts might put a hole in the poly skin.
It's not that it CAN'T be done, it's that he doesn't want to do it, probably because he's worried it won't turn out right and and he doesn't want to deal with upset customers and refund demands and wasted inventory/effort.
I asked LAVivid if they would do it and they said they wouldn't because...
If you get super-fine swiss or french lace, they are designed to show your scalp through the hair and base, and you can see right down to the "root" of the hair shaft, which can look extra realistic when the hairs are put in correctly and the knots are bleached, but if they're not, the dark...
I once ordered a skin piece with blond hair, wore it in to a hair salon, and had them dye it while I was wearing it. It turned out great, but it cost a lot ($99) and ideally I'd prefer to skip the step of going to a hair salon with a blond wig on and having them it dye it to match my brown hair...
Despite their reputation as one of the most realistic kinds of hairlines, v-loops actually look kind of fake if you look right at them, especially with dark hair (which I have). Real, growing hairs don't form a "v" or "u" at the base like v-loops do. Sometimes the looped hairs look kind of...
I want to order an ultra thin skin unit with blond/flesh-tone skin and have the shop dye it dark brown before they send it to me (resulting in invisible v-loops).
I've heard some shops will do this.
I asked a couple and they said they wouldn't.
Does anyone know of any that will?
That looks like a polyurethane skin in the middle with lace in the front and something else in the back. I can't tell for sure what that is in the back because I don't recognize that pattern and the picture doesn't seem to have enough resolution for me to see the detail of the weft, but it...
If you're going to be covering up the hairline completely, a thicker polyurethane skin system with injected hair might be the most convenient option for you.
The hairline won't style backwards easily and the front edge can look kind of fake (especially when it starts wearing out), but it wil...
When I receive a new stock unit, I cut the base to my template, glue the unit to my scalp, brush it all straight back and put on a ballcap, then head over to either The Hair Cuttery or a higher-end hair salon. I wear skin units and I'm pretty good at making the edges seamless. The hair...
Oops.
Thanks for that correction.
I think when I typed "lavivid" into the url/google field in my mobile browser it automatically added ".com" and made it into a url.
Funny that it went to another website selling hairpieces.
Maybe that's their old site?
Went to lavivid.com to check it out.
Browser told me the site is unencrypted, not secure, and that I shouldn't send them any credit card numbers or other personal information.
I think I'll pass, until they get that fixed.
