I think they're building up a cheap labour pool for all of the economic growth that's going to happen. They're absorbing a lot of industry from the rest of Europe, for example the City of London is going to move to Frankfurt after Brexit, that will require a lot of construction work and a lot of service sector workers to drive buses, clean hotel rooms, serve food, etc.

Exactly white people got paid more.

Race is a good tool in part as culture is often correlated with race.

Having Hispanics do cheap labour in the USA may also lead to downward pressure on white wages.

It's a big government move. Immigrants will always tend to vote for big government. Also, divide and conquer. The EU project is about "one nation" - they hate the idea of nationalistic pride (that's wacist!), or pride in one specific culture or another. Instead they want to dilute the population and claim that diversity is a good thing, when in reality immigrants from the middle east and northern Africa adapt themselves into western culture a bit like oil absorbs water. Actually, all you end up with is ghettos and mistrust amongst the various races and religions in a population (throw in a bit of "terrorism" as an accelerant).
