It is a shame that people can be so judgmental. I have read other forums where they ask women what they think of guys who wear them, and they all say the same thing: We would look better bald, we are vain, we are insecure, they wouldn't date men who wear a hair piece. It is easy to label us and say that when you are not the one who is going through the hair loss. Other guys with full heads of hair or who are comfortable with their loss mock those of us who decide to wear one, saying it looks fake, hairline looks fake, it is too much maintenance, it will blow off in the wind etc which NONE of are true if you have a high quality one. I have attached a photo of me with the hair piece on and NO one would ever suspect a thing. I think the hairline is okay and it looks so natural on me, people who know me have said it looks great and makes me look years younger. I say do whatever makes you feel better because that's all that matters. That is what people will see, your confidence and personality as a result of looking and feeling better about yourself. If someone cannot understand that, then they are not worth having in your life anyway.
