+1. Hope is powerful mate. It kept me going through the tough life I lived.... even before hair loss.
Hope is the only real reason I'm a functioning human being today! I do hope this thing is successful.

Oh yes!! Any idea when we can expect the results?

How come the trials are set to start a year from today when they are ready/know that they are going to do it?
Noob question, I know. Someone throw light on that, please?

Yup. If only 2 companies are going to offer the treatment through all partners/hair transplant surgeons throughout the world.... this is the next roadblock that makes me curb my enthusiasm.

Oh Bullshit!
i dont know to be honest why it will take 14 months but a lot of preparatory work wpuld go into clinical trials i’d imagine. You’ve got to recruit viable canditates for it aswell as planning the doses, controls, etc. You also need regulatory consent to conduct human trials, don’t know how this work in japan though tbf

Yeah, recruiting people has to take A LOT of time. Applications, elaborate medical testing, selection and finally testing.
AFA regulatory consent is concerned, I imagine they can't even take the first step without it. I thought it must be done by now.

That's all speculation, of course.

i assume they will partner up with a network of hair transplant doctors because the new hair will still have to be implanted in a natural fashion into your noggin', no? We may be seeing top end surgeons setting up shop in Japan if this thing takes off....

Everybody is talking about top notch docs for transplants etc, but nearly everbody forgets that these guys want an automated procedure and Riken has to develop these devices. The final idea aren't surgeons, but machines that will do this and I hope they do it better, faster and less expensive than a crazy Doctor

Automation? Sounds revolutionary (read: more research and investment necessary, expect delays)

Anyway.... now that the human trials are set to start, how long do you guys expect (speculate) them to take?
From what I've read, Dr. Tsuji has already multiplied stem cells and tested them on mice.... so it's the injection/implantation and efficacy that have to be tested now. If that is so, the test shouldn't take long like two years las is the case for other treatments.

Also, once this trial is done, and assuming results are positive, what's the next step?

When it's done and the results are like expected we will wait for commercialization.

I really don't think that the guys that are going to invent hair cloning are so dumb that they start creating these "machines" after the results are in, yeah delays will be normal, but I expect Tsuji is smart enough to know what exact devices he needs and what their function should be. Riken has to develop "just" something that suits his procedure or normal transplantation. İsn there already a device out that extracts follicles for a hair transplant?

Are we going to skip the part where he says only 70% of transplanted mice regrew hair ?
First time i hear about this, is it a good number ?

Yeah..... I just hope the results are good.
We can all deal with a couple of years of delay, no problem. What we can't deal with is failure of the treatment/cure.

Yes, there is such a machine. It's called ARTAS

f***. Didn't know that......
And it remains to be seen whether it is effective for humans.. I f*****g hope it is.

Any ideas at all how long these trials will take? Anyone?

Oh man. When he quoted the study stating that “120 cells/cm2 erupted” or whatever It was.. I literally started salivating. Legit, I think it’s a day every single person with hairloss has dreamed about - waking up up hairs growing all over your head. Seeing this stuff makes me hopeful but sad too. Still seems so far off, still so many “what ifs”, the fact that it’s probably going to cost a huge amount of money, and won’t be available unless you go to Japan. It’s not a viable option for so many people. I hope they commercialise it for the sake of millions of people whose lives are totally fucked up by alopecia.

I did a recent count in my baldest areas (hair line and crown) and I have about 10-15 hairs/cm^2 now. Life as a diffuse thinner f*****g sucks. I don't see how ANYONE could have 120. that's some seriously thick density.

That's something we hadn't heard before and noone was aware of, 'cause we would have asked them about it, otherwise.
Additionally, it makes no sense from a scientific point of view.

"We have been waiting for what seems like an eternity regarding.. Tsuji".... mouhahahahahahahahahahahahahaah - he most defenetely (good for him) never steeped a foot on HairLossTalk.com's limbo.
Tsuji news are going so fast compared to other treatments in the pipelines!
Tsuji is amazing. He can move faster with actually making hair with stem cell, than Fidia with stabilization of a finished product... Kind of shows the quality of work on each side

Well I don't know. I think it maybe more frustrating...
At least you have a goal, can hope that other companies can replicate the procedure for lower prices or licensed companies drop the prices....no cure means you are hopelessly fucked up

Replicate? Not if product patented and it will be. This won't be a a pill where you can have generic option.
However i wish to be optimistic like you are.
