went to the doctor last week and he prescribed me minoxidil and hairgen.
1 time per day minoxidil and 1 tablet of hairgen per day.
he said that finasteride has serious side effects.
Do you think this treatment can work?

A week or two won't make a difference, so you can do the bloodtest and then start with finasteride.

Look into dermarolling too. Finasteride is not needed and it's not a good idea to start it at a young age. I know I'll get disliked to hell for saying this.

This is just dermarolling+min.
The problem is that we still don't know how well dermarolling is in the long term. We also don't know if the guy of that thread is a one of a kind hyper-responder, so until more data and long term tests are performed, we should not stick to the idea that dermarolling (or dermapening) is really the top hairloss treatment. That's why I will stick to finasteride for more time, just in case that my recently started dermapen regimen is not enough (or if it loses the battle in the long term like minoxidil).

OP, I would try finasteride if I were you. Incidence of side effects are actually low, and if in the worst case scenario you get some of them, you can simply drop it and sides will go away. You have literally nothing to lose

There have been cases where the sides did not go away after quitting. It is an old drug that was repurposed for hair growth, it is not a reliable, consistent and safe treatment. Keep using it if you feel safe doing so, but don't recommend it to a scared 21 year old.

Those instances of persistence of side effects after quitting are extremely low, and multiply that to the already low side effect incidence and you'll get a fairly low probability of getting into that category. Also, I wouldn't think that age has something to do with probability of getting sides on finasteride. 21 year old dudes are already developed so finasteridd won't mess with any growth or developmental process.
I agree with you with something tho: if he's scared (as you claimed) then there is a higher chance of getting sides, because of the nocebo effect triggered by his psychological predisposition. So if he's overly scared (regardless of age), I'd think it twice.

Not every male is fully developed at 21 I certainly wasn't I wouldn't recommend finasteride to anyone under 24 unless the balding is aggressive and you have no other option.

from the photos you find my baldness aggressive?

Well you look Norwood 3 already so it's fairly aggressive. If I were you I'd start minoxidil wait 6 or 9 months see how it is then start finasteride. It depends how much you value your hair have you tried buzzing it down to see what you look like?
If you're masculine I wouldn't bother with finasteride because chances are you would look OK with a shaved head so just shave it and get on with your life. It's when you look boyish with a small frame you're fucked if you start balding, (like me)).
If you really want to save your hair in the long run sadly we don't have any option really but to take finasteride. But definitely try minoxidil and nizoral shampoo first you might be able to maintain just with those for a year or so.

I'll start soon with finasteride 1.25g and minoxidil 2 times.
I'm going to cut a 5 gram tablet into 4 parts.
But I can not take blood test. My doctor does not want me to take finasteride.
