I'm at a point where my life has completely halted, and I no longer have any will to do anything or get out of bed because of hair loss. I'm not even interested in sex anymore cause I feel like it's not part of my future, so has no bearing on my life.

My late 20s were erased by this. The next stage of life is not available to me because my hairloss makes me so ugly. Just can't take it anymore.

I've been trying to see a hair and scalp specialist but he is over the state line, so the insurance is unnecessarily complicated.

I'm having tons of full healthy looking hair fall out. My scalp smells, the texture has gone to sh*t. I have these random patches of balding areas, at my left sideburn and another at the back of my head.

Its been a month, shave your head and start losing weight. You could have been down 20 lbs slaying pussy by now.

I have no weight to lose. I went on a huge weight loss journey a few years ago and lost a ton of weight. I already have abs. and I don't look good with a shaved head. I look far better with hair.

@WheeljackG1 I would go see someone, a professional who is qualified to handle ideation like you're exhibiting, as they would have the tools to help treat you, and they're quite good. The truth is that no one cares about your hair loss but you. People are so self involved, if you didn't have hair, they wouldn't care. I have several friends who shave their heads and I don't even notice and it certainly didn't change my perception of them when they lost it. Men develop this insecurity because they feel like their hair is tied to their identity. If you've tried treatments and they have failed, just shave your head and start living your life. There are really good treatments available, though, and if you haven't looked into Finasteride or Dutasteride, I'd give them a look if I were you. I understand you may be feeling less than, but the hair doesn't make the man. I've had long hair almost my entire life; I'm in the early stages of loss and started Finasteride. If it doesn't pan out, I'll see how my hair is in a few years and shave it if it starts looking bad. That's really as far as I'm willing to go because it's really not that important, just a change to get used to—life is full of changes, and living life is about adapting to those changes and moving forward. All the best, and take care, man!

This. OP, I really do agree that you need to speak to a professional. Just know that you're not alone. Just being on this site should tell you that ther's many others in the same boat. I've suffered from depression and had suicidal thoughts for years but every time I've carried on I've been glad I did. Depression's not always something you can control but no matter how bad it seems you just don't know what's round the corner.
There comes a point though where you've got to want to make the change. You've already made a great start by losing weight and gaining abs. You said how great that made you feel right? Well ther's lots of things that you are in control of and you can change if you want to - See a specialist about the depression, take anti depressants if you really need to, start taking Finasteride for your hair, ect. Even changing your diet and exercising more can help with your mental well being.
Good luck!

I feel your pain, man. I know the horrible feeling of seeing all those healthy hairs on my pillow when I wake up and all the hair that ends up in my brush when I comb my hair on a daily basis. I also have bad dandruff and scalp irritation that doesn't go away even though I've tried just about every medicated shampoo there is (over the counter AND prescription). Have you tried finasteride? It didn't work for me, but it seems to work for alot of other people. It might slow down the rate of shedding for you.

what about a hair system?

Not a bad idea, the systems today look very realistic.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I am currently going to therapy.

I've thought about finasteride, but I'm really scared to take it. Firstly because im already short and now I'm balding, but my Johnson is slightly bigger then average, I'm scared If losing that too. Also I've had signs of liver issues, so I don't know how that would affect things.

As far as hair systems my hair is also shedding from the sides, and I have two round thinning patches. So if I got a hair system that would still look weird.

I have been trying to be pretty consistent trying to get the insurance worked out to see the hair and scalp specialist. So I hope he will be able to tell me what my best options are.

I'm still trying to hope for the best. I'm glad I'm not alone in this.

While I am not a finasteride cheerleader by any means the probability of permanent penile shrinkage is really not something that should be considered a factor in your decision since it is something that is probably more theoretical than a small probability. You can always take .25mg or .5mg starting to see how you respond.

You'll never be alone, brah. At least 1/3 of the male population have hair loss. Also, keep us posted on what your specialist recommends. There's no specialist in my area, just a dermatologist that knows very little about alopecia.

I feel this post. I was an anorexic teen. Always suffered with depression. I have some serious trauma issues from sexual abuse. I honestly felt like my whole life was a battle. Then I hit 19 and things got better. I liked good. The at 21 my long pretty hair began falling out rapidly. What’s worse was that the pattern I have is diffuse female pattern + retrograde + all over body hair thinning. I found out that I went through menopause and would never have children. I’ve tried to end my life a few times, but sadly drugs just don’t seem to kill me. I’ve obviojsly been taking the wrong approach. I have a plan too, and I think about it every day.

I hope for you things get better with treatment. I’ve tried everything, EVERYTHING, and failed.

The sides from Finasteride are no joke but I agree shrinkage is one thing that you don't need to worry about. Unfortunately, unless you can afford a hair transplant it's just about the only realistic option for most of us. I'd advise Wheeljack to research the drug properly and educate himself on the potential sides and the chance of getting them and then make a decision if it's for you or not.

I don't know what to say, I'm sorry. As I said to Wheeljack however bad it is you don't know what's around the corner. I've suffered for years, thought about ending it and then when I got to 30 I met the most wonderful woman and everything changed. I can't pretend everything is now perfect and depression doesn't just go away but she's a little light in my world that I never thought would exist when I thought there was nothing to live for.

Feeling for you WheeljackG1.

Regarding your hair. Just look for low level laser therapy. See for the evidence yourself. And decide if you have a go for it. Check my earlier posts. It helped me with my hairloss by gaining at least 1 scale of Norwood. I know it may be somewhat controversial here Therefore check the evidence yourself. Its solid in my opinion.

But more importantly than your hair is your whole self being. I really hope the best for you. Most surely, youre a lovely young man! Wishing you the best.

@ovdw I've been looking at laser therapy myself. Why is it controversial? There seems to be some strong evidence for it and it's cheaper and less chance of anything going wrong then a hair transplant.
