I agree with Cassin when he says stay the hell away from Internet Explorer.
Why? That's all I use!
I know lots of people who are perfectly happy with IE, but some of us that do heavy surfing can't handle it.
I personally prefer firefox, it's more stable, can handle 100s of tabs (you don't need 100s but sometimes I have more than 10 tabs open), it has less security holes (many MS supporters debate the opposite).
Let's put it this way, mozilla is a company specialised in making browsers, whereas MS is an OS company. When making IE, MS will always have other ideas and priorities that are not necessarily in the advantage of the end-user.
Whenever I HAVE TO use IE, it takes me literally 2 mins to crash it. I open a main window, jump into another tab, then check my emails on another tab, sports news on another tab, etc and IE is frozen... It just doesn't work for me.
Whenever I see an interesting link, rather than stopping doing whatever I am doing, I send the link to a new tab so that I don't forget that there is a link I'd like to read. When I'm done in the current tab, I have the other link open and ready to be read. That's how I surf and IE can't handle multiple tabs in the same way firefox does.

I'm looking for a laptop..If you guys have some experience on this what do you recommend?
I personally prefer a PC because it's cheaper and I use linux for work. You have to keep in mind that the new generation Macs are pretty much identical to PCs, hardware wise there is no difference, apart from the price tag. Despite being identical, Mac supporters state that the hardware build quality is better than the generic PC. I'm not so sure how an identical hardware can have better build quality in one box and not in the other.
Basically, if I was to run linux on Mac, I'd be paying almost twice as much for the same specs. It just doesn't add up for me.
To play games, you can have a Mac with dual boot or a virtual machine.
I'm actually tempted to get an Asus Eee. That would be like downgrading (?), they are small and less powerful but extremely mobile. My local shop has an Acer One (similar to Eee) in stock for £190.
I made it sound like I don't like Macs... All I have to say is that you have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself. Some people that switch to Mac from PC never go back.
