I tried to help him via direct on reddit, saying that my younger brother who's 14 with the same curly hair has tons of these baby hairs around the hairline. He replied something like "Ok bro now I feel relieved", but a few days after he posted the same garbage.

Kid you are so dense it’s unbelievable. Neither us nor you know if you’re balding. We can’t tell if that hair on your scalp has started to shrink ... only a derm with a microscope can tell that.
If you honestly don’t understand that then life is gonna be one hell of a fucked up ride for you.

If you really are balding. The best you can do is minoxidil and nizoral. Then when you're older, give finasteride a shot for maintenance. Thats all i can say.

Honestly, I'm pretty damn sure you are balding. Would I stake my life on it? No. It certainly shouldn't affect your life now, as you still have a ton of hair and I doubt anybody has mentioned/noticed it in the real world.

So where do you go from here? You got the confirmation you seem so desperate for, do you have any plans outside of creating forum threads, as I can confirm nobody has ever recovered from hair loss by posting on a forum.

So now that's out of the way, what treatments are you prepared/able to do?

As been mentioned countless times before your BEST option is to visit a dermatologist.

I personally wouldn't recommend buying hair loss shampoos as my opinion is that they are just overpriced shampoos.

Nizoral however is a different story, it may be a bit expensive for a 14 year old though, and it definitely isn't a hair loss cure.

My advice would be to look for products with actual clinical data proving their efficacy. If you have a product in mind, ask and chances are someone here has tried it and can guide you.
