It's not that the hairs are growing in different directions.

It's that the hairs aren't long enough and thick enough to get pulled back with the other ones when he's pulling his hair back.

Fade hair cut would hide it pretty well though, I agree, problem is if it gets worse.

It's really not a problem now, just the potential of it progressing to another level.

No one knows though.

Wait and see I guess.

Adios.

Fade haircut would always be able to hide it.

Fade haircut would always be able to hide it.

Not according to these people who have "retrograde alopecia":

Not saying that's what he has, that's just what he suggested as a possibility.

But I am guessing something like that is progressive hair loss.

“These hairs will fallout before you hit your late teens like they do for everyone else”
“Nah, you'll probably never lose those hairs, but they will always look weird because of your growth pattern“
Don’t these statements contradict each other?

I think theres something going on with the hair on the left side of my face but the right side is still nw0 without thinning. Is what I think about the right side true?

I took a picture of the top of my head after a shower and I’m a little concerned about the amount of scalp thats visible. Is this normal or am I thinning?

I was applying hair gel and I thought my hair looked really thin. Thoughts?

Some people are going to say "no, there's nothing there" others will say "yes, there's something there" only you can really have the best chance of determining whether a change has occurred/ is occurring; as well as a derm or a GP.

If your family can afford it, derms cost about $125 US in Australia if you don't have a referral from a GP. With a referral it's free.

You could try a different GP than the first one and maybe search on Google to see if anyone of the ones near you would have any specialist knowledge in hair, because most GPs have a specially field.

Trichologists are "scalp/ hair doctors" and the one I went to was about about $70 US in Australia, so maybe it's cheaper.

Posting pictures is probably just going to go around in circles until something becomes glaringly obvious.

My advice would be if you are still concerned that something is not right, then pursue one of the aforementioned options.

People on here can only say "yes", "no", but it's hard to know for sure with lightning and stuff and the way real-life translates in photos.

My feel is there might be something there, but what it is - who knows.

Considering your age something to do hormones, underlying health issue, etc...

You're better than fine - remember that androgenic alopecia is a part of androgenization, akin to beard growth more so than aging. Some men develop a mature masculinized hair line in their teens where it sort of stays for years (if not forever) in some cases. Don't worry - your hair looks great. Indeed, check in on this again when you are 18 and consider finasteride 1mg (adding minxodill if you think you need it).
I've been there trust me...hit me up for solutions

Another kid that worries for no reason. You say that your hairline is receding since 12. It's unlikely for your hairline to start to recede when you are that young. Have you hit puberty? Has your voice dropped? If no, you have nothing to worry about. You either have some other sort of hair loss or don't have any.

I’m 99% sure I was wrong about it starting at 12 since my biggest concern was the size of my forehead and after looking at pictures from when i was younger i realized i just hadn’t noticed it before. But because I thought was balding i grew my hair out and covered what i thought to be bald spots with it. Because of this I have no idea when this truly started.

I also started balding at 14. I'm 16 now and it has gotten a bit worse.

I would recommend going just 4-7 days without masturbation and see where your hair takes you. I used to fap every day for 3 years between 12-15, now I do it once a week and my hair is thicker and better looking than ever, despite my hairline being so high and receded on the temples.
Just curious, why not stop masturbating completely rather than reducing it to once a week?

Bad self control
Well, if you really believe masturbation causes hairloss, reducing it to one week won't make a difference. You have to stop completely. Just one masturbation session causes a hormonal imbalance.

I have spent 20 years trying to find the right hair growth shampoo, hair treatment etc such as, finderstride, propecia. Regaine, laser hats and vitamins. I have tried everything and finally I have found something that is working for me. It is totally natural and is going to change the face of male and female hair loss. I never wanted to have a transplant and at 47 I was about to finally give up and shave it off however after trialling a new product for 6 months I am finally proud of the results. Furthermore it is all natural way to get the scalp healthy and alive again again. This I not just a shampoo it’s a complete process and all will become clear. I will be sharing my secret to the world at the end of the year. It’s a kit that includes everything you need to get hair growth and a healthy scalp. It’s early days but I have personally spent 6 months testing this process. And I want everyone one of you guys to also see the benefit. I have setup a Instagram account under the name of @edenhairgrowth and will keep you up-to date with my progress. Follow the account for latest news and product information. Seriously this is a game changer for anyone who wants to stop using chemicals in your hair.

I talked to my mom and she took me to a GP again who said that i was fine and that everyones hair is like that. But i haven’t seen anyone ( without a receding hairline) with the same hair problem as me and though I’ve stopped stressing about for the most part but I’d still like to get it completely out of my head so i thought this would be the best place to ask if what the doctor was saying is true.

Hi, I just made an account so I can talk about my issues so sorry if I do anything wrong im new to this. So i noticed my hairline receding when i was 12 ive had long hair since then to cover it up. Im 14 now and i think im a 2a on the norwood scale. I don’t have a great diet, haven’t seen a doctor yet and my parents don’t know because I am really embarassed about it. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of comments about my hair and that i need to get a haircut but I can’t, I am pretty sure theres no solution out there but its really killing me so i needed to try. Thanks in advance for the help :)
Follow the advice of most people here and talk to your parents. Have them check you in with a good dermatologist. It would be rather uncommon to have male pattern baldness acting out at this age. But you could have some dietary minuses or some other thing going on that could be an easy fix. Whatever you do, do not start any treatment for hair loss unless you know what causes the state of your hair. You are too young and have all the life ahead of you to mess it up now!
