Hey. Didn’t have aggressive male pattern baldness to start. But I’m not maintaining on finasteride, I’ve been on it for over a year. I’m 26

after pics are real! Idk why I’m bugging then, maybe my hairline improved but my overall density feels much lower
We often get paranoid about stuff like this. One day you feel like the hair is steadily improving then you think it is actually declining and on another day it seems to have stayed the same but you feel bummed because it doesn't seem like the medication is doing anything and it's just a matter of time until you start losing ground again. I think this is for many of us an endless cycle here where you are optimistic one day and mentally down another day.

So maybe your mind is playing tricks on you. Just keep taking pictures.

It definitely looks like your hair loss progressed and finasteride doesnt help much. Consider taking duta or maybe hold on few years and when you are older get on spironolactone or estrogen.

Your hair is objectively better. Little thickening of the miniaturized hairs at the temples

Hair loss is a mind game, and rule number 1 is to stay the f*** calm and let the meds do their job.
take your monthly pics, see what it looks like and get on with your day.
It's an incredibly difficult thing to let go of, but becoming addicted to checking your hairline only makes you a neurotic mess in the long term, panicking over pictures in different lighting and settings, thinking youre going bald.

If you're on treatment, the odds are waaaaaay in your favour. It's incredibly unlikely your male pattern baldness will progress when you're on these drugs.
And, remember. There's always more you can add to your stack. Although, be reasonable. Dont add spironolactone or other tranny drugs

Hair is NOT maintaining guys. I’m bugging. I have pics of my hair from November (few months on finasteride) and this past April here

Could it be because I’m using “Hims” finasteride now instead of from like a Walgreens or CVS? I signed up “for hims” so that I could get the finasteride delivered

Yes and switching brands can have an effect, legit Merck Propecia always wins from my friend who had similar nightmare switching to generic......

What do you think about hair that I’m not maintaining ?

I think you need to try legit brand Merck Propecia and also add a shampoo like Regenepure DR or Ketaconazole shampoo.

or what about thing Topical Finasteride with anti androgen blockers and 15% minoxidil as that’s what I use.

For me it still looks like improvement. If you compare the two pics where you just pull your entire hairline back it looks better on the pic that was taken later.
