still going strong. ig otta starrt getting up earlier in the day. today i didn't eat anythign till 5 pm and i actually felt some hunger then.

i'm gonna try to eat at 1 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm, which are the same times ill take the ephedrine-caffeine-aspirin stack.

i lost 2 more pounds today- i have a ton of energy. i did 40 minutes of fasted cardio on the treadmill today and am gonna do some upper body weights tomorrow.

to answer ccs question, i am trying to lose weight. i don't care if i've lost some substantial muscle at 145 pounds. i add muscle really easily and can always put it back.

i will probably need some good advice though once i'm there on how to not look skinny-fat.

dude, your cortisol will likely go through the roof. Thats also a pretty potent androgen linked to hair loss.

You aren't worried about telogen effluvium?

How are you keeping your iron levels up?

multivitamin once a day.

and telogen effluvium will grow back,.

its still pretty scary when it happens (which won't be until 4 months later).

but its ur call i guess

i dont really think it will happen. the diet 3 years ago may have kickstarted my male pattern baldness a bit early but it still won't affect my final Norwood classification, which should be delayed quite a long time thanks to avodart anyway.

i don't think it will happen though as i said. and the multivitamin gives me a lot of good crap including 100% RDA for iron.

While everyone has good intentions, there is simply no other way to lose 45lbs in 7 weeks besides what JayMan is doing. He knows it's unhealthy, and knows he will lose muscle mass. Plus, he's done this diet before. He hasn't stopped eating, he's not binging and purging & hasn't started the speed/crystal meth diet. So there are definitely more unhealthy things he could be doing to lose the weight.

As for Atkins being dangerous, it depends on who you talk to. If you talked to Robert Atkins, I'm sure he could have provided a 1000 point arguement as to why it was perfectly safe...And on Dateline NBC's (I think that's the show that did this) year long series on losing weight via different diet methods. The guy on the Atkins diet absolutely killed everyone else in weight loss.

thanks harie. what do you suggest i do once i am at 145-150 pounds and am kinda flabby like a skinny-fat person? how can i bring my calories up to a healthy amount and lose the fat that i have left? thanks. i'm unsure where to go once i'm there to cut the fat with a healthy calorie amount like 2000 calories a day(I know i will increase very gradually over the course of a couple of weeks) and get a six pack

Gradually increase your calories to avoid gaining a lot of weight. If you start eating healthier, you can keep the weight you lost off for good. Just keep hitting the weights & doing cardio and you should start to tone up once you're not eating 700 calories per day.

Your maintenance calories are around 2200 calories per day (145lbs x 15 calories/lb) at a body weight of 145lbs. To lose weight, just subtract 500 calories from that, to get 1700 calories. To gain weight - add 500 calores, to get 2700 calories/day.

As long as you're eating healthy, gaining weight (muscle) isn't a bad thing. If you don't have calipers, you should go get some...That way you can ensure that you're not gaining a lot of fat. Just measure yourself every month and judge results. You could also take pics of your progress since it's hard to remember how your abs looked last month. :)

U a big time bodybuilder harie?

I've always been into exercise, diet, nutrition, supplements...that's all. I spend most days at work (since I have a desk job where I do about 4 actual days of work a month) surfing the internet learning about the things that interest me...Which are usually hair, cars and fitness...Lately it's been steroids, HRT and hormone levels.

Then there's diet books, exercise books, exercise magazines etc that I read on a regular basis. A few years ago I contemplated going back to college and getting another Bachelors degree, but this time in sports science or nutrition. Decided to go back and get my MBA instead.

haha i hope fairtaxnow doesn't find this thread. :)

thanks for the tips. if i go from 700-800 calories back to 2000+, is adding back 200 a day too fast or no? At that rate it would take me 6 days to get back to my normal calorie level: 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600. Sound good?

I hope none of the advice I'm about to give comes across as condescending, I'm not sure what you know or what your exercise/diet history is other than what you said about dieting three years ago. I'm just going to rehash tried and true advice here:

-You need to eat at least ~1600 calories per day.
-eat 5-8 times per day, or every few hours to jack up your metabolism and turn yourself into a human blast furnace.
-cut off carbs with the exception of veggies in the last few hours of the day
-Eat some form of lean, complete protein protein at every meal (chicken, beef, eggs etc. as opposed to grain based proteins which are incomplete) go for at least 1g/lb of body weight in protein. some would argue to eat even more than that.
-focus on eating low g.i. carbs for energy. brown rice, oatmeal, berries, whole wheat bread and pasta (watch out for high fructose corn syrup), yams, etc. avoid sugars like the plague
-do some heavy weight training to hold on to as much muscle mass as possible. find a good weight training program that incorporates the other big 3: squats, deadlifts, bench press. you MIGHT even be able to gain some muscle mass on a diet like this if you're new to weight training
-DO NOT GO BELOW ~1600 CALORIES PER DAY. The 1200 calorie figure is geared towards women. You should be neither sedentary nor a woman, so you'll need a bit more. Eat less than this and your body will fight for every calorie, storing whatever it can as fat. Bad things can happen as a result of this malnutrition, i.e. hairloss, problems with teeth, etc. as well as any number of things you can't visibly see
-add cardio to create a bigger overall calorie deficit and keep your heart healthy.
-don't stare at the scale. weigh yourself maybe once a week, and just make this a lifestyle change for a few months. weighing yourself every day and hoping for visible changes in the scale will just make you go insane.
-drink plenty of water. a gallon of water is a good benchmark.

Keep this up for a few months and you should look great. The scale is just a number. Sure, you can starve yourself down 30 pounds but you'll be skinny-fat and flabby, and the second you take off your shirt your rating on the CCS scale will drop at least 3 points when the ugly truth is revealed. A guy I work with lost a crapload of weight by starving himself and he's definitely what you would call a "thin" guy now, but he looks tired and weak.

I agree 100 percent. But this will fall on deaf ears because it's an inconvenient truth, and most people need to learn the hard way. There's a lot of really good tips here for anyone else paying attention to this.

That sounds like a good plan to me. Continue to take your Ephedra & exercising though. You will probably gain a few pounds back since your body is storing everything you eat now, but in a while your metabolism is going to speed back up.

If you feel like you've gained too much weight back, go back to 1600 - 1700 calories per day and slowly lose the weight.
