-It basically goes like this.
-I have first noticed the hair loss about 2 years ago, when I noticed I did not have so much hair in the front area.
-Over time I guess it progressed in such a rate to the point where now I'm concerned I might be losing my hair by the time I'm 20. This is horrible, and when my friends tell me I'm going bald I'm feeling very insecure and anxious.
-I did take minoxidil but I was incosistent with it, it just caused more shedding which got me even more worried(yes I know it's normal in the beginning but I was even more afraid of losing it and not getting results)
-I don't know if food is a problem.I don't eat anything but I eat a lot. I have an athletic body, I go to the gym 4 to 5 days a week.I take cold showers and I have a special shampoo made for my problem.
-I will upload pictures to see for yourself with my hair wet , the picture with the bathtub was taken today when I finished showering
-I saw that the problem occurs mostly at the top of my head, while on the sides and back it's like nothing happened.

I don't know what to do. Please tell me if I need to provide more information.

you have hair loss "diffuse" pattern just like me.

although when I was 17 i had thick hair and lost it quickly in my 20s

Finasteride stopped me from losing more hair and minoxidil thickened up my hair a bit

Welcome to the club brother. I started losing hair at 16. Go see a derm or a specialist. Get on finasteride (assuming a Doctor will prescribe it at your age) and rogaine.

I wish I knew about finasteride at your age

male pattern baldness + diffuse.
So you say it's a combination. If I take finasteride in combination with monixidil is it a problem?
I can find minoxidil, but finasteride is really expensive from what I know in my country.I will give it a try if you guys say it is worrh it

Definitely get on finasteride and rogaine. finasteride is the only thing that halts the balding process. In your case you should have gone on finasteride some time ago as you are approaching a Norwood 3 on the right side and have significant thinning.

Not to be rude but how did you not notice your hairline getting receded? Got guys on here who go nuts over even small recession and yours is definitely significant

Well I did not really took in consideration sides. I was paying attention to the top mostly. Can you tell me the approximate cost of the treatment over let's say 3-4 months?

I’m from the US so don’t know if our prices or currency line up but a months supply of generic finasteride is like $18 from Costco and generic rogaine is like $22 from the same place. Also you need to commit to life long treatments to keep any gains you get

-I mean like if I was 30 I could probably get over it. But at age 17, hair is something you need. It's so unattractive to see a young guy that is balding.
-I have also heard of cases where people lose a lot of hair for a certain amount of time(caused by hormons and all that) but then it starts growing back.
-When does this apply? My mom said I never really had a lot of hair compared to other kids when I was small, and it has also never been too thick.
-I have hairy legs, thick hair on my triceps, traps, shoulder and chest. But why not on my head?

Trust me hair matters just as much at 30 as 20 especially if you are still single or unmarried. You are in for a rude awakening if you think otherwise.

Don’t be in denial. Search other forums almost every young guy thinks his hairloss is special and something other than male pattern baldness - not so. Your loss pattern is clearly male pattern baldness, I’m sorry. male pattern baldness only gets worse so it’s better to start treatment early. You are already bad off and clearly showing signs of male pattern baldness.
FYI I started balding at 16. It’s more common to bald at a young age then you would think.

I wouldn’t listen to your mom or family members. Her goal is just to make you feel better and she is probably not very knowledgeable about the balding process. I have lost almost the entire front portion of my hairline- Norwood 3a; and my mom still insists I’m not going bald when I see her.

Being hairy everywhere else is actually a sign that your are more likely to go bald on your head. The chemical that cause baldness on the head DHT actually causes the opposite effect on body hair. So more body hair= sign of DHT sensitivity= more likely to bald

I would urge you to start treatment. If you don’t believe me go see a specialist. By that I mean a dermatologist or hairloss expert not a general doctor.

I wish I had started at your age...

Oh dude, you must feel terrible. You are young but see if you can get on finasteride asap.

I'm in my 40s and still worry more than ever about my looks and hair loss. It never leaves you I'm afraid, it's so important to your identity.

You can try herbal hair oil and specific vitamin for hair growth as V - A, B, C, D, E, Niacin, IRON, FISH OIL, ZINC ETC. But never use any supplement because they are bogus.

None of that helps Male Pattern Baldness. It can help with hair quality if you have some hair; please do not give out false information.

The only FDA clinically approved products are Finasteride, Minoxidil.

Herbal remedies don’t work.... don’t waste your money. Only rogaine and finasteride have an effect on male pattern baldness

I don't care. You may think. That's your problem.

Well you either are or you’re not. And you haven’t even answered the question.

Are you selling a product or vitamins?

Generally a lot of women get on this forum thinking selling a fake cure to desperate balding men is an easy cash grab. Let me tell you upfront best to try your luck elsewhere if that’s the case, NO ONE WILL BUY HERE

Do you guys suggest to cut my hair shorter on sides and longer on top to give a longer hair illusion? i guess i should avoid buzzcuts, even though it is something I considered for a while.
I will start treatment with minoxidil,I want to ask, is the Alopexy company good?It is 5% minoxidil anyway, but does the company matter?
I will try looking for finasteride.
I would also like to know what food to avoid, or activities to avoid.

Food/ activity don’t really have a significant effect on hairloss. Just be healthy in general what’s good for the body is good for hair. Just don’t smoke ( including pot) or do drugs since that can restrict blood flow to hairs.

Any company is good for minoxidil it’s the same active ingredient.

Haircuts - actually buzzcuts are good with a 1 or 2 guard. It makes the recession look less noticeable. I have been rocking a 2 guard buzz cut since 16.
