I went to a urologist today. There was the doctor (woman around 30 or 35) and a resident, male, maybe late 20s.
I did so out of trust for conventional medicine, wanting to give it an honest shot. I've been told by friends to stop with the nofap nonsense, to trust medicine, to trust doctors who spend years studying these issues, who know more about the interactions between all the parts, medical school is really hard etc etc etc
I told her my history, what's worked and what hasn't. She made an inspections and could not find any problems. She said there's nothing she can do and referred me to a psychiatrist. She said in her experience erectile dysfunction is either total or not at all, there is no such thing as partial ED. She asked me if I had sensation down there, I said I have some but if it had declined by 25% in 10 years I wouldn't notice, she said she meant to ask me if I have zero sensation.
I told her that I'm giving standard medicine a chance but that if I give up I might go for alternative treatments: steroids. She said she strongly counsels me not to do steroids. I said yes it has risks, but there's also a risk in being permanently impotent and never having children and never having relationships. She said go see the psychiatrist.
I asked her what the physiological difference is between men who have sex ten times a day and those who have sex once a week, she said she doesn't know.
They didn't order scans, more specific blood tests, anything. There's no lifestyle change request with follow-up appointment planned. Nothing.
She asked me if I had diabetes, I said my blood glucose and insulin are normal though I may have some symptoms of insulin resistance.
I have, of course, already seen shrinks. I have had no progress from that. I will try this shrink. I'm also on another no-fap cycle that I just started. But if progress stays at zero I may go for anabolics in a few months. I'm thinking of imitating the CDnuts protocol in spite of not having PFS.
