I went to a urologist today. There was the doctor (woman around 30 or 35) and a resident, male, maybe late 20s.

I did so out of trust for conventional medicine, wanting to give it an honest shot. I've been told by friends to stop with the nofap nonsense, to trust medicine, to trust doctors who spend years studying these issues, who know more about the interactions between all the parts, medical school is really hard etc etc etc

I told her my history, what's worked and what hasn't. She made an inspections and could not find any problems. She said there's nothing she can do and referred me to a psychiatrist. She said in her experience erectile dysfunction is either total or not at all, there is no such thing as partial ED. She asked me if I had sensation down there, I said I have some but if it had declined by 25% in 10 years I wouldn't notice, she said she meant to ask me if I have zero sensation.

I told her that I'm giving standard medicine a chance but that if I give up I might go for alternative treatments: steroids. She said she strongly counsels me not to do steroids. I said yes it has risks, but there's also a risk in being permanently impotent and never having children and never having relationships. She said go see the psychiatrist.

I asked her what the physiological difference is between men who have sex ten times a day and those who have sex once a week, she said she doesn't know.

They didn't order scans, more specific blood tests, anything. There's no lifestyle change request with follow-up appointment planned. Nothing.

She asked me if I had diabetes, I said my blood glucose and insulin are normal though I may have some symptoms of insulin resistance.

I have, of course, already seen shrinks. I have had no progress from that. I will try this shrink. I'm also on another no-fap cycle that I just started. But if progress stays at zero I may go for anabolics in a few months. I'm thinking of imitating the CDnuts protocol in spite of not having PFS.

@David_MPN I have zero interest in sex and cannot sustain an erection, with one exception. I started using zinc picolinate 50mgs, 2mgs of copper, 5000mcgs of vit d3 abt 6 years ago and recently added mag citrate 150mcgs and 5000ius biotin 2 months ago.

I can tell you the zinc picolinate (now brand) made a huge difference. my package is bigger (not bragging but have gottten compliments), I have a veracious libido and I feel like I need to get off, or I'll explode. It's made a total 180 / night and day difference. I like the vit d3, it improves my mood. Lately I added the magnesium, and that seems to have enhanced things, but ultimately zinc/copper and vit d3 have completely turned my life around. I have since cut back a bit as my gf is not as into it, and i end up going batty, as Im nofap.

Before going down the slippery slope of psychiatry (my dad was one), I recommend trying $20 of vitamins, instead of getting prescribed on meds nobody needs. Not to mention anti depressents cause a decrease in libido and hairloss - just trying to offer some advice for what's worked for me.

Why don't you listen, and trust me.

I had ED before, it was more or less a mixture of performance anxiety, and p**rn induced

Once you abstain from p**rn, and get comfortable around a women it will go away. Your mind has been programmed through years of p**rn, and hand ejaculation that it doesn't even respond to women they way it should. Your hand has been your release for to long.

Different smart people give different advice. It's a complex situation.

Supplements: The evidence for them seems to largely come from bogus studies involving small samples over a small period of time. The GP I'm seeing asked me to stop taking supplements like vitamin B, turmeric, etc because it's not regulated by the FDA and because the companies often lie about their ingredients so it's impossible to know what I'm eating. He wants me to follow standard medicine.

Following which, even if I take supplements, there's a different opinion on everything: zinc, copper, iron, b6, d3, fish oil, turmeric, tribulis, he shon wu, korean ginseng, ginseng from every country in asia, l-arginine, st john's wort, ginger, fenugreek, goat's weed, pine pollen, maca, etc etc etc f*** my life.

No Fap: Exremely hard to maintain permanently. It actually does help me ... after 30 days I'm basically getting non-stop erections. It's difficult to not masturbate in that situation. If I jerk off once, I'm back to square one. It might be good to get in a situation where I have access to sex and can relieve the pressure with sex.

p*rn-induced ED is broscience.

Not one shred of evidence to back it up.
I turn to speculation because conventional science apparently has nothing to offer me. Trust me I would rather be normal and have normal person problems that doctors know how to fix, such as a flu or a sprained ankle.

Haha! "473 days nofap no pmo, and I got semi hard today"

Vs.

$20 and a 1-2 week experiment with some supplements that worked wonders for a member here.

- why not try both Bro?

Back up your claim

When you are sexually aroused you release dopamine in the brain. To much dopamine can, and will cause problems after prolonged use. When you watch porno, and it make it a habiotual habit the nerves in your brain gradually become less responsive, and sensitive to dopamine. Over time less sexual arousal around real women, not being sufficient enough to arouse you. Why do you think after chronic p**rn through of the years you require more and more substance to get aroused, and reach orgasm. Where as when you take a break, and watch it... you orgasm fairly quickly.

p**rn is not harmless, and it isn't a myth.

When you jerk off to pornography repeatedly over and over, through the years it takes more sexual arousal to reach orgasm. Normal women don't create that much excitement, and it takes more substance or hotter fetishes to get off.

I take it you are not renowned in dopamine, erections and how libido is influenced? it's fairly logical, and virtual reality, and real life stimulus are no different as they operate on a dopamine connection for arousal.

To much is never a good thing. The good news is that, this problem is reversible by simply abstaining from to much pornography, limiting usage and reconnecting with real women,.

There is a rise in ED amongst the youth, and to no suprise high speed internet, and pornography. Our fathers never experienced ED, it was almost unheard of...... All they had were play boys.

Ive tried a few of those over the last 10 years, and no word of a lie, zinc and copper are the cat's meow. You need picolinate though. By fapping, you basically discharge a ton of zinc. So the 30 days you spend building it up, you excrete in one fapping session. Supplementing will restore the much needed testosterone you need to let your guys do their work. If it doesnt work, I'll mail you $10.

Anybody with education in the medical industry will tell you all that crap you take is bullshit.

Lol at thinking taking zinc does anything..... it's like people believing in the myth that zinc, and trib will help with ED, and testosterone. Go read published articles on your zinc balongie. it has zero influence on testosterone up regulation.

Only drugs clinically proven to influence erections are exogenous testosterone, clomid v****, and a family of nitric oxide boosters.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

1) Zinc is an essential nutrient, which humans have been consuming as long as there have been humans. We can absorb zinc from food ... I do eat red meat, poultry, nuts, beans, dairy products.

2) Why would a body excrete 30-days worth of zinc in a single fap? That's a huge amount of zinc.

Hey my Worm friend, I don't want to offend you, but....you claim that vitamins and zinc ''saved your hair''. You also take biotin. It's not like you have sound advice to give. Sorry. We cannot trust you. Stop spreading misinformation please. David engaged in TONS of mumbo-jumbo, he really doesn't need more of that.

Zinc did not save my hair - Zinc + B6 did, it's in lipogaine, regenepure, reviogen. Look up the ingredients. I have a good coverage, and am just spreading my experience dealing with hairloss for the past 20 years.

Biotin is an experiment, i have yet to decide if that is having any effect yet. So far, i hasnt caused me to shed more, that's it.

With that said, I may go on a supplement binge later in a few months in an effort to throw every kind of sh*t at the wall and hope something sticks.

In my cupboard, I have but am not using vitamin B-complex, turmeric, fish oil, algae oil, and L-carnitine. L-carnitine is a nitric oxide booster, but I'd probably need a higher dose.

I was exaggerating. Seriously though, it's worked wonders for me.

If you want some studies supporting it, I can dig it up.

Let me know. Cheers!

btw - Nitric oxide is good to have, i was using larginine, but I wasnt able to jizz, the zinc gave me a testosterone, that's what made a difference.

@shookwun is right.

@David_MPN, since when you arrived here I wanted to text you about the SHITLOAD of bullshit you took back then. Dude, I promise you that during my vacations I will show you the entire biomedical debate on that issue. I just can't kill that time now as I am suffocated in work.

You are irrationally giving supplement quackery a chance. Man...that's the WRONG move.

What shitload of bullshit? I have not taken that many supplements.

I did try pine bark extract + l-arginine for 90 days. It didn't work out but it's not a "SHITLOAD".

Well, I remember reading a list with a plenty of supplements on your signature and comments on that usage on other threads. Sorry if I'm mistaken. Nonetheless, my alert is valid for dozens of misinformed forum members that are victim of the supplement industry.
