How Many Of You Have Actually Gotten Scalp Biopsies?

So much self diagnosis and medicating going on in here when there are many forms of balding and you could be treating the wrong problem and potentially worsening your condition.

MPΒ/ΑGΑ is very common and makes up like 95% of all cases of hair loss in men, it's easily diagnosed by its unique pattern and miniaturising follicles which is not observed in other forms of hair loss.

I fall into the other 5% and am going to ask for a biopsy.

I had maybe a bit of male pattern baldness, slight receding at 40. Thick hair.

then did a cycle of trenbolone over a month ago and have been shedding and thinning since.

But hold on, I did (2) 4 day fasts during this time as well.

So I either caused Telogen Effluvium from the fasts and hormone fluctuations, or I sent my previously mild male pattern baldness into overdrive... temp or long term who knows.

I def need a biopsy.

That is extremely unlikely if you already have ΑGΑ genes, no doubt the anabolics have triggered a telogen event yes but let’s not kid ourselves you don’t have some rare form of hairloss that puts you in the 5%. It was triggered due to your HFs susceptiblity to androgens and no doubt they will come back miniturised next anagen.

I knew I had androgenic alopecia months before I had a biopsy done by a hair specialist. During the appointment, she told me that I had ‘severe’ miniaturisation in all over the top, and then said that my balding pattern is an NWV...

Lol good luck with that. You have male pattern baldness and are just in denial. Seen it many times. It's better to accept it and get on treatment then look for excuses. But do what you want. Best of luck

Bitter balds, as we like to call them, are popping out of the wood work. Nowhere did I deny male pattern baldness.

The fact that I even have previous temple recession, however slight, shows I have male pattern baldness, this is a given, but it was not an agressive case considering I was a Norwood 2 at age 40 with little to no thinning. I acknowledged this. Never denied it. It's actually very possible to have both male pattern baldness and Telogen Effluvium at the same time.

I also never had gone on 4 day fasts before (2 seperate) in the same time frame, nor had I shed from previous cycles. Fasting and hormone fluctuations can both cause Telogen Effluvium. male pattern baldness is not usually characterized by sudden hairfall, or hairs that are falling from the sides and back of my head.

Actually the thinning zone I can now visibly see is a line going straight down the center of my scalp, also very uncharacteristic of male pattern baldness.

The reason I am proceeding with extreme caution on this one is because if I have Telogen Effluvium or some other form of Alopecia on top of male pattern baldness, I would have to be convinced pretty hard to take meds that are known themselves to trigger Telogen Effluvium.

We have seen many instances of diffuse thinners who sound like they have have Telogen Effluvium go on minoxidil or finasteride lose all of their hair, likely because they triggered chronic Telogen Effluvium with these meds which are known to potentiate it.

Most body builders who trigger hair loss are fine 6 months later with no intervetion, albeit usually with slightly thinner hair. Taking meds in my case would be risky and stupid. Unlike the majority of balding 20 somethings here, it is not in my genetic coding to lose it all before 30 and the hairfall was triggered by external events not my own biological clock. A self limiting phenomena.

Better to move on with treatment before getting a biopsy and a thorough scalp analysis and diagnosis? Genius.

It is possible to have Telogen Effluvium and male pattern baldness at the same time, and if I triggered an telogen event why would I take meds that are known to expedite it unless I want chronic Telogen Effluvium?

It would be free in my country.

If I took pics, which I wouldn't do for a troll like you, you would see a mostly full head of hair better than most of the 20 somethings on this forum.

So in the end he asserts his perceived superiority.
What are you guys so upset about?

At this point, I have more hair than most of this forum, and I would like to keep it that way. That's a fact.

Doesn't change the fact that having sudden hairfall at any age is traumatizing. Seeing hairs fall out in the shower or during styling for the first time in a lifetime is not a pleasant experience to go through and I hope it stops before real damage is done.

Ah yes, blindly attributing an emotion to people in a way that suits you. Always a good one. Original too.

Lol at your bragging you have better hair than everybody on this forum...your probably like nw3 with that type of superiority complex.....and btw atm am an nw1 most have said I'm an nw0 but I decided to be preventative so I can continue this way. Alot of people should be preventative because it's alot harder coming back once your to far gone like yourself.
