Hi peeps
I've attached a couple of pics of my current hairline just to gauge what you guys think. male pattern baldness runs in my family, think my brother started developing a bald patch around a similar time to my age now. I've noticed thinning at the sides years ago, maybe even as far back as school (12 years), but last summer I really noticed my hair starting to thin and for the first time it was happening in the middle of the front of my head.
I've known it's coming for a while and have tried to save some money for a transplant. Obviously that isn't my preferred option what with it being so expensive (cannot justify £18k or whatever it would be on that) and I also realise it's take years to go completely so I'd like to have a crack at keeping what I've currently got. I am prone to acne and have heard finasteride can be bad for that, so with my hair fast thinning I'm half tempted to just cut to the chase and get on propecia, which is what I understand to be the most effective treatment for keeping your current hair? I am slightly fearful that the shedding phase may leave me with a bald patch at the back of my head, but it's coming to the stage where I'm going to have to take that risk I think. Any advice would be welcome guys
I've attached pics to see what you think. I actually don't think these pics show how bad it is, I had a very thick head of hair but a lot of it seems to be going fast :
