Have Any Finasteride Non Responders Did Better On Dutasteride?

Hey all, looking for my fellow brothers who also fell into the non responder category when using finasteride. Have any of you tried dutasteride and seen results? I'm planning on adding in 0.5mg of dutasteride 3x a week alongside my other treatments to hopefully end up with zero T and DHT.

So freakin retarded. Get a f*****g hair transplant and get off the tranny drugs before you completely destroy your body.

Why did you say that?

I am on Minoxidil (2 years) and now by my Dr. and a well known hair specialist in UK told to go on Finastride and see how that goes before any transplant thoughts. I've been on Finastride 6-7 months now (results not what I wanted)

I'm being told to at least hold for 9 months until I make decision on hair translant

Because the dude is trying to grow hair in areas that probably never had hair to begin with. From all the pics I've seen over like 12 months he's had virtually no improvement in moving down on the Norwood scale, just increasing density. He's destroying his body for the sake of what could be achieved by a transplant for ten grand. f*****g stupid.

Out of interest, what UK surgeon are you looking at? Finasteride is ideal, but this guys regimen goes a lot further than that. On average can't expect more than maintenance on finasteride.

Oh ok I didn't realize all that, I thought he is like me Minoxidil and Finastride and that's it. I've been told to be patient until the 9 month mark on Finastride to then decide about hair transplant as doing it right now with my current hair state would be counter productive. Dr. name is Dr. Harris, from Nottingham if I am correct. Seems to have a good rep on this forum. He's the one that told me to hold bay until the 9 month mark.

From what I've seen (and there isn't a lot online in terms of patient reviews which is a big red flag) I would avoid Harris. The above result is garbage and simply doesn't have enough grafts for the hairline design or to match the hair behind its density, which is a plain indicator of an incompetent surgeon. The only surgeon you should consider in the UK is Doctor Ball. Depends on your norwood situation but you should look at Belgium and Turkey too. Erdogan, Lupanzula, Bisa nnga, Keser all far better options than Harris.

What you're saying is retarded. Why the hell would I get a transplant when I haven't stabilized my hair loss yet? I would look like a disfigured, pluggy freak a few years later and would have to chase that route my entire life until I run out of grafts. No thanks.

You have stabilised. I've seen your photos over the past 12 months, your hair is absolutely exactly the same apart from some density increases. You have BDD.

That's not the way hair transplants work either, and instead you're chasing the destruction and chemical castration of your body; seemingly indefinitely so obviously you have no problems with long term commitment to this. See a psychiatrist and tell them what you're doing, before and after pics and what your regimen is like, see what they tell you.

Then you've not looked hard enough. In the thread I posted in the shedding section with the before and afters you can clearly see my hairline has receded back further and has began thinning more towards the forelock. The middle of my forelock has also started to thin which is evident in the after photos. My density has not increased, although when I first started minoxidil it did temporarily but since I've been shedding badly for over 5 months now my density is now noticeably thinner than baseline. I can't have the same hairstyle I've always had without using a daily thickening shampoo as my bangs are just too thin and gappy now.
Unfortunately for some reason the very first thread I posted was randomly deleted which contained pics of my hair before treatments and it was so much better then, I still had temples and my hairline was not nearly as receded. I was like NW1.5 back then and now I'm NW2.25 a year and a half later..
Transplants cost too much and unfortunately I'm not an ideal candidate as my donor is bad due to retrograde alopecia. Treatments are my only chance.

You definitely have a self destructive personality. You seem like a great person who obvious is not getting his mental health stable. Show me where your donor eliminates you from getting a transplant in the future.

I know but I'm using it at low dosage. I do have some mild side effects and plan on gradually lowering my doses when/if I stabilise until I find a sweet spot for minimal sides and maintenance.

Yes I am self destructive and thank you for the kind words, I do try to be a good person. If I ever buzz my head I will provide pics, but its impossible to notice at the back due to the length of my hair. You can see the retrograde a bit on the sides of my head in the thread I made in the shedding section.

Go to the shedding section of the forum and look for the thread my shedding horror with pics its on page 1 it has pics of my hair 6 months ago compared with photos from a couple of weeks ago. You can see the thinning is progressing towards my forelock and even thinning at the forelock which was not happening before.
