Just

I’m in the 200-300 hairs a day shed club now. I feel you pain. Hopefully it’s just a shed from starting duta.
Do you actually lose this amount? Thats crazy.. my density has taken such a massive hit, as you know because we've spoken before. My shedding has slowed a bit, I don't lose as much in the shower. Less than 10 (from what I can see).

How long has your shed been like this? Surely you're maintaining because you'd be bald in a few months?

I know it sounds crazy but the loss is real, it is 100% also growing back just thinner and much weaker and that’s what has kept me from looking bald. But the density is a fraction of what it was even in December.

I don’t know if the Minoxidil is contributing to the constant shed? I just don’t know if the Finasteride has helped at all. I have diffuse miniaturization.

I hear you. I thought I was in the clear thick long black hair at 40 and then out of the blue I’ve been losing massive amounts daily.

Can I get some feedback on this picture. I was out running and felt a crazy amount of wind on the back of my head. I’m trying to gauge if the thinning is mostly male pattern baldness or everywhere.

With the long hair is tough. Trying to gauge if the crown thinning is similar to the back thinning it what should be the safe area. The hair has a turned to a thin mess, tangled beyond repair.

WTF another shower another nightmare.

Thinning faster than ever. Still on a heavy dose of topical Finasteride daily. Pattern is weird. Hard to see miniaturization aside from the hairline. Girlfriend says she can’t see a pattern. I feel like the sides and back are thin but still stronger than vertex.

You sure the finasteride isn't doing more bad than good? That's what happened to me. It's accelerated my hairloss and thinned my hair. I lose it from back and sides now.

I know it's not what you're looking to hear, but your hair still looks good

Hey
Your first post on this group was over 2 years ago. Have you continued to shed like that all this time? Your hair doesn’t look different

I just came along this photo you posted on January 1 2018. Over a year and a half ago. It literally looks better, if not the same .... are you f*****g with us on here? Here is the photo. And heres the one today
Thanks for pulling that image, I started the thread for myself to keep track and to answer is this male pattern baldness or chronic Telogen Effluvium.

The part hasn’t changed much but the amount of hair layered has and I also get weird horizontal parts. I assure no one is f*****g around. The density is a fraction of what it was and I have a gallon zip lock of hair from the last six months.

So you are saying that your hair gets worse and that it doesnt show in pics?
I have diffuse thinning, and Im afraid that photos are deceiving me.

I am saying the pics don’t accurately show the loss of density and the change in the quality of the hair. Still NW1 but it’s very diffuse and weaker at temples. Just trying to determine if I need to go heavier on AA’s or look for answers elsewhere.

I’m thinking of adding my RU powder to topical Finasteride or the peptide solution.

If I were in your place I would definitely get on something stronger. Like oral finasteride if you havent tried it before. Or opt for duta.
If both fail check this thread. The treatments mentioned in this thread are not for everyone, proceed at your own risk. Good luck.

so what did you end up doing? quit finasteride and hows your situation? because finasteride has accelerated my hair lost lost over 60% density starting from baseline.

looks like im not the only one who puts shed hair from finasteride on the shower walls lol...

i understand blue's point that his pic aren't showing the true nature of his hair lost...if he was to not have it lay flat and wet like that, you would see his scalp more....thats the situation in my case, finasteride totally f'd my hair density.

Thanks for affirming I’m not the only one treating the shower wall as a crime scene.

It’s both extremely and gradual. The density is really gone but the hairline isn’t that much worse off. I’ve noticed the crown losing weight to the point that it won’t stay back.

That’s the struggle, is the Finasteride doing harm? It’s like when 4 doctors told me Minoxidil could never hurt and year later, I’m never come close to recovery from the first 3 weeks in Minoxidil. I have no clue.

I dont think minoxidil would ever make hair loss worse. It just happens that youv started minoxidil when the shedding started.
For finasteride, making hair worse is possible due to reflex hyperandrogenicity.
My hair loss is the same as you, although my frontal zone is not affected at all. My part at the top of my head is twice as large as the one at the front.

Maybe you can get some hope from me, I lost about ~40-50% of my hair at the top and for about 11 months now, its still the same. I only use minoxidil and take biotin pills.

I just know the testosterone is wreaking havoc.

As much as I can see side thinning there still is a NW7 pattern. My high temples are thinning fast. Going to through in some RU I guess the Finasteride is doing nothing.

I know but look at 3 years ago when I started on here. It was crazy black and dense. I had zero male pattern baldness and the shed won’t slow. Still know I’ve been fortunate just trying to slow down the loss.

Hello. At 39 I had zero hairloss. Long, thick, wavy black hair that I could barely contain to style.

In August I noticed some shedding and thinning at the vertex and immediately saw a dermatologist. Her first diagnosis was Telogen Effluvium. I wasn't confident in a single diagnosis and saw three additional dermatologists along with a biopsy. All but one said it was a diffuse Telogen Effluvium and that I should be patient it would all return within a year. They were hair specialists in Chicago at the most reputable hospital in the city.

I waited. The loss worsened as I waited for the promise of a return. I saw her again in December and was assured it was going improve. On my return four month visit the Doctor seems to be waver and is now directing me to Rogaine and Propecia.

I have lost so much hair. I started Rogaine May 1 and the shedding is crazy.

I am so angry that I could have saved my hair if I had started treatment in August when it was full and thick. I feel like it was malpractice.

Can anyone help me understand timing and the potential for regrowth under these conditions? I am healthy, marathoner in a strict pales diet.

The loss has been very very diffuse. Only now am I starting to see thinning at the temple.

Can I recover?

Did you make a change to your diet in the lead up to the hair loss, through taking any supplements or medications.
Is the food that you eat now the same as before.

Appreciate any real insight. It is so hard to get honest answers.
