Looks great, congratulations. Was your crown always that thick?
My hair is combed back, so it looks better than it is. But it's better than it was. Probably 20% more dense than before. It's passable. Could use another 10%. Biggest problem is my hairline, which is slowly getting better. Hopefully I can grind out another 10% there too.

Some of the best results I have ever seen. That is obvious because you actually took some great shots that show off your hairline and scalp concurrently. So rare to actually see bona fide results like this. Good stuff man, happy for you.

Thanks, I'm going to continue to update as I go along. That fact that it doesn't look too painfully thin as it's grown out is a positive sign.

This looks amazing, thank you for sharing! Where do you buy it from, by the way? I like using the Canada drugs direct service, and I would like to get it from there. Maybe you can also share your favorite services here, thank you in advance!

This should be in the success story section, let me know if you wish to move it. Remarkable turnaround. I had a bit of time the other day and I put on the bald truth radio show, never usually watch it. I wanted to listen to a particular Dr. Anyway I watched maybe half an hour of a couple of shows and I saw you were on one, recognised the image! Is this your adult hairline or juvenile one? What's the distance from the centre to between your eyebrows? It seems a little high but passable. I saw Spence cracked a joke about you getting your eyebrows positioned higher but he was in awe of your transformation. What did you think of you interaction with him?

Spence seems like a pretty cool person and I'd like to be like that at his age based on a discussion I heard. In the other show someone who was almost 60 called in. He had been on medication for two decades and was a former model, he was talking about some recent minor diffusion (apparently) and deluded tales of young girls thinking he is 28 and still apparently trying it on with them at parties. Creepy or imaginary, not sure which one is worse. Spex was too polite to address this but then he butted in when the guy talked about his slight hair loss and what to do next. He goes wait how old are you? It's f***ing over man. Obviously the guy got defensive/insecure and thought ah let me remind Spex that he's only 3 years younger lol. Spex goes and what? It's over for me too :D Then he expanded how everything is time specific in life and that he still keeps himself in shape, basics, relatively youthful looking with his clothes but he's happy otherwise and doesn't hide his age like one of his friends at the bar. He is just happy socialising now and whatever comes his way he'll take it, ironically he still looks pretty good and has confidence. As long as he can eat, **** and walk, he's good to go or move on if he loses basic health. I interpreted that as a man who is content with his life and it's probably because he always lived in the present and so he now he appreciates his past too. He never bothered with surgery and simply used concealer, worked for him.

Haha, that conversation was weird, because I was working, and doing like 3 things at once, so I was off track. And in the beginning I didn't want to talk poltics, because you know how that goes, so I was being vague and the conversation was just missing the mark. Overall It was a discombobulated one.

I had called in 3 times before I think, Once in early sept or something n then sept 17th. and once another time or something like that.

Yeah the joke about the eyebrows was if I shaved my head because I said it's looks like a pup tent so I could have thicker and higher eyebrows to get closer to my tall dome.

Distance from the center of my eyebrows, in the middle of the brow hair to the center of hairline is about 2.25 inches or so. So not bad, but yeah, it's a bit on the high side, but what can you do. I'm not worried about it enough to get a transplant if the density gets a bit better over another year and holds. At 37 and counting, if it thickens a bit more, having it the way it is looks a lot more natural than getting a transplant and having some weird low hairline of a 23 year old when I'm 45, just wouldn't look right. I'm only concerned about density at the moment.

Spencer is pretty cool. A lot of times you can't hear what they're saying due to bad audio on your end, so you just skip over whatever it is instead of constantly asking what they just said. Sometimes the jokes are just awkward n you skip over those haha, not everyone's a comedian, you do what you can to be entertaining. But he's a pretty decent guy. Joe is pretty cool too. Take a look at the sept 17th show, I was just at home and talking about the first months on finasteride, it was a lot more on point.

I think I remember the conversation with the other guy. It's what it is. Transplants, painting your head, etc, it's all due to being self conscious when some people just shave it and move on, which is probably the most healthy thing to do in the first place. I think I remember that guy living a little too much in the heyday, and it did seem kind of unfortunate, if I remember correctly. Some people cannot get out of living in a past time paradise.

Little update. Here it is at a year. Looks ok. I'd like to get rid of the scar on my head, but I'm not in any rush. does make it look a bit thinner as you can see it in both pics, and I don't need any help in that area. Two heavy down lighted images, so it looks better in nearly any other circumstance, but good for reference.

I actually liked hearing you on there and you were talking naturally imo. Like you said, not everyone is born a comedian and since they are the hosts they take control a little which is expected! I will check out that show mate on Sept 17. I think Spencer had his fun and a result was able to move on and realise the party end some day. It sounds like the show is more business for him and he probably doesn't think of his hair much and has other areas of interest. You could get that scar filled in with some smp or minor grafts? I didn't notice it until you pointed it out and would leave it as it is! I think you could benefit from a half inch drop and some temple points - the hairline will age well if its done well and also look NW1 - 1.5 to give you some angulation. The flatter higher hairline can look a little artificial. But overall your hair is fine for your age and if it doesn't bother you much, why do anything.

Yeah in person the hairline looks better and angled more. In pics it looks flatter and higher, to myself and anybody I've asked for reference, talking about a transplant. About 1/8 inch would be pretty good, even 1/4 inch would be pushing it. but I'd settle for some more density for now. We'll see down the road how I feel about it, but if it gains density, I'd be ok with it. Not feeling like I have to wear a hat has been huge, so right now I'm just basking in that. Lot of things you can do with the scar, I'll probably get around to that.

If you wrinkle your forehead does it touch the hairline? I'm curious if this is your juvenile one or mature. They usually never implant below the mature hairline but rarely may do if you're a in good position. You can probably lower it as long as it is above the forehead creases...more than 1cm can look naff if it doesn't grow well. All things said, you're in control and it looks full enough without a hat so it's all good.

I still have the follicle dimples from my original hairline. Its about half inch or so below front center n less than that below in the corners. Mature hairline is where im at you might say. I had a really low hairline when i was young, its considerably higher now. I have to see how i feel in the next year, its mostly about density.

@OldnBald, enjoyed your call in to The Bald Truth. I have been listening to his show for over a decade and feel having Joe TilIman is the best addition to the show. Joe is the best source of info for anyone considering a hair transplant. After consulting with him, he brought up some good points on reasons for holding off on getting a hair transplant despite me being a great candidate. I really think anyone considering a hair transplant should watch all his videos before doing anything and should consider consulting with him for an honest assessment.

I read that you are now using generic Propecia from Costco which is incredibly cheap especially if you are a member. Do you believe the theory that generics are not as effective as the name brand Propecia frequently discussed on The Bald Truth. Just to disclose, I have been using the generic version of Propecia from Costco for many years. I just don't see how the name brand could be more effective than generic brands like Ascend from Costco.

I don't recall any clinical studies online that confirm this theory. My hair loss pattern is very similar to yours but happened later in life than you experienced. I too had a much lower hairline in my younger years but my whole hairline moved back with very little recession until recently. Have you seen any studies that prove the name brand is more effective than the generic. I am confident that Costco's generic contains close to a 1mg of finasteride in each tablet. The amount of money I save on generic for years versus name brand could be used to save for a hair transplant that would give more better results than finasteride. What are you thoughts?

I think a lot of older guys always used the merk brand finasteride, so they have a mental affinity towards it, and don't want to break the precedent. I couldn't imagine "real" propecia giving me better results than what I have now. Same with minoxidil.

If my hairline was really pushed back I'd be more for having a transplant in the next year or so. But it is O-K, and if it gets a little more dense, it gives the illusion of being lower as well. I have a feeling if I don;t get much more headway, I may get a slight lowering, like 1/8 of an inch, and some thickening of the area as well. We shall see. Both Joe n Spence don't think I need one, and I would tend to agree. But you never know how you feel after the results I've attained wain as far as my satisfaction is concerned. Just like anything else.
